Hello - i really want to play this game, but I’m finding it frustrating. I’m on the Making Mountains Out of Molehills mission and need to find certain ore. I’m supposed to use my Core Scanner but I don’t have any Probes. I looked on the Marketplace but can’t afford any listed there. What am I missing?
What is the best source for very new players to learn about how the basics work?

Hi, I don’t see any mission from that series requiring the use of probes… This link lists all the ‘Making Mountains Of Molehills’ missions…
Now about the ‘Making Mountains Of Molehills’ series, the only required Ore is Veldspar which can be found in any Asteroid Belt… Just remember that some of the missions require you to go to a specific location / mission site..
As for scanning equipment, I suggest completing the Exploration Career Agent, they give you a Scan Ship, Scan Launcher and Scan Probes..

There are the explorer missions that use those, I would hit the others first that give you ISK and ships, so you can afford the nicer equipment. The second missions on the industrial entrepreneur and industrial producer give you ventures.
However, I am not saying you should beg for a living, but there are care bears who will help;
Mike Azariah - Operates the Magic School Bus and runs the full 12 schools in his freighter full of ships. He gives them away free and fully fitted. You do need to be online at the time, so it is hard to hook up with the man.
BRUCE is a tiny mining corp owned by Lusty Lucy Cybaritic - She and 3 others ( actual players ) in that corp will gift you a fully fitted venture with probes and mining gear worth 10 million ISK. You need to send them a mail in game and they will give you one for free,
Those are just 2 of the care bears I know of in this game willing to give without restraint. They don’t want your ISK they just want your respect.
