When we met for the first time in Ibiza, I was skeptical too. Myself having partaken in the unspeakable debauchery of the Guiding Hand Social Club, I thought maybe James was pulling a fast one on everyone by hiding the salami. So we agreed to perform a closed-curtain “integrity check,” and wouldn’t you believe it: 100% girl.
If you’re that skeptical, you can just attend one of her book signings and see her for yourself. But after all this time, why would you think otherwise? You can always watch her Twitch or hang out with her on Discord. Besides, I don’t think there’s a single piece of software in the world that can properly emulate James’s voice.

Hello,
after getting interested in the topic from reading the multiple complaining topics, I decided to watch the show and even test a bit of disturbing the gankers for a day or two. Just to learn what they do and how they do it. Even joined the ganking-intel and antiganking chat channels to see whats up there and shared some information.
Here is my conclusion:
While I initially disliked the gankers gameplay style, I understand it a lot better now. Around 90% of their victims are just lazy, greedy and outright ignorant. They are unable to even use the ingame tools that are given to them. Like the map (looking at “ships destroyed in the last hour” or checking zkill/ganked for activty on their route or in their region/constellation, setting known ganker groups to red, joining intel channels etc…). In most cases their fittings are horrible greedy like 2 tankmods vs. 4x damage + 3x application while traveling. There are battleships dying that have 3 billion ISK fitting but not a single plate or even a damage control or a warp core stab to negate the initial sucide-tackle. Not even talking about cloak/mwd or MJD… basically every marauder or faction-bs I saw dying could have just MJD’d away once tackled by the usual Maller or Punisher on the gate and be 100km out when the Catalysts landed…
On the other hand, for large parts when I tried to disturb the gankers, I was simply alone. 250 people in the ganking-intel and 150 in the anti-ganking channel and not a single one out there for assistance. And doing some AntiGank is really really simple, I just tried a Battlecruiser and shot down Catalysts or Ruptures when they landed on their target. While I could not safe everyone of course, yesterday a Golem and a Vindicator both survived while I had 5-6 Destroyers killed. No idea if my interference safed them or if they would have survived anyway, but thats entirely not the point. The point is: The gankers have 20, 30 or 50 people (or at least accounts) in fleet, have dedicated roles like scouts, bumpers, tacklers, scanners etc. and the antigank fraction has… nothing. No leadership figures to organize anything nor even an open fleet to join. 5-15 active people in hard-hitting damagedealers or remotereppers could entirely stop the ganking on a specific gate or at least make it twice as expensive. Instead everyone lurks in the channels or at the forums complaining.
Anyone who really wants to do something against ganking, just do at least half the effort the gankers do. Form a fleet, coordinate, share fittings and tactics, get people on voicecomm and then be present at the gates they camp.
Just my 2cents.

Preach bro. I came to the same conclusion. Hell I even gave the most perfect way to to prevent ganking in Uedama, it fell on deaf ears, then almost got peeps banned and now is back to normal LOL.
As a rule of thumb, check to see if CONCORD is on those kills where the Golem and Vindi survived, if not then you would have reduced the DPS and helped them to survive. You certainly removed some DPS there.
I always advise people who make observations like this to become a leader, setup fleets and go for it, once you do try you will understand the issues. I think the issues are pretty obvious, but not everyone has the ability to assess this oddly.
Your observations on Marauders are spot on, I used a Celestis to remove that initial tackle if the ganker tackle was -10. If not you rely on the target to realise that the point has dropped and only one I saw was quick witted enough to realise that. I have posted advice on the use of MWD’s and MJD’s on the forums, but the gankers keep closing those threads…

It’s absurd that you think gankers have some mysterious control over the forums.
I don’t think there’s anything mysterious about what the gankers do. What they do is troll and be toxic and get threads closed due to the standard CCP Spiel with the ruleset. Often it is because the hardworking ISDs have had enough of toxic threads that makes their game forums non-community based and more like a nest of toxicity, non-adult behaviour and childish rants.

While you are perfectly free to wear a tinfoil hat and pretend that gankers manipulate CCP into doing my bidding, I believe that CCP has more agency than this, and you are just a whiny crybaby who complains because CCP doesn’t agree with you.

I do know what you mean but what we do is reactive not proactive , people can’t sit in uedama all day waiting and as have happened in the past we form large fleets that can stop them they simply pack up .
What are you going to do with 15 people if you’re only active is stopping ganks and they stop ganking.
Also one aspect you’re missing completely, the subversive actions the gankers have taken part in , people have been in the past afraid to speak out or take action . When I started this I was warned and indeed felt alone but very slowly got to know some solo members that did the same as I .
Many corps don’t take part in this activity because of the repercussions it can have . Many players are afraid to speak out. Even streamers keep me at arms length because of my negative association with gankers . People often say oh it’s you who fights the gankers and don’t want to know.
Fear makes them seem pro-ganker in the hope that they don’t get grief.
I’m lucky I found a corp to play eve with who are happy to speak the truth about gankers and try to stop them .
Can’t play as much as I would like at this time but we will keep trying .
Your are dead right when we have had a fleet of 10 people we have stopped many ganks but do it once or twice and the gankers change. As it has happened .
As for the AG Intel channels the have there uses but they are only to warn people what’s about, many people thank me for reporting there ,they Dock up and wait out the storm.
So a good post but really just scratching the surface of the pros and cons.
We will never give up the resistance to them and their Null overlords

Yes, people are truly scared of gankers. We bully and harass them into wild-eyed horror, in real-life. This is why people don’t want to support you. It’s not because your gameplay is boring, or that people think it’s lame or antithetical to the very spirit of EvE, and it’s not because people don’t understand the point of defending lazy AFK Highsec botters – it’s because they are SCARED of the gankers (even though the gankers are bad at the game) and it’s so BRAVE of you to take a stand by posting in the forums.
It’s truly amazing, for the FIRST time in the history of EvE, a HERO has stood up and made a post which CONDEMNS the evil space bullies!

I have spoken to many who just don’t want to be seen to be involved with AG because of the repercussions , remember how bad it was for small corp untill the war Dec thing changed .
You know your the monsters of high sec we all know that and I’ll do what I can to fight you.
Admittedly it’s been hard but as a group we have had some fun and that’s what eve is about.
