Amarr undock can become an issue if you don’t have a long undock and undocking with value.

Close to Amarr there is a Nulsec link straight from highsec that seems to have incursions and you can find that someone anchored a large warp disruption unit on the gate that would also have incursion npc’s

Every system is a potentially dangerous system. Do not get complacent and judge by sec status. Death always lurks around the corner of the next gate so always be alert and take the proper precautions.

Well yes, but some are more dangerous, some less.

There are a few websites that will help you determine where the currently most dangerous places are to travel. Like this one:
https://eve-gatecheck.space/eve/

So one precaution you could do, is check this site before you travel.

Also, high sec is generally safer than low sec because CONCORD operates in high sec and punishes attacks. Although it can’t stop them.

Golden rule of EVE: “Never fly something (or with something in the cargo) you can’t afford to lose. Yes, not even in highsec. You should not fly a ship you cannot afford to replace and refit. (And remember to insure your ships!)”

This insurance part seems like a waste to me. If you can afford to lose it then what do you need insurance for? Also insurance doesn’t cover what is fit into it (which is usually more than the ship itself). And insurance doesn’t cover your cargo either.

I prefer to think of every system as dangerous, that way I’m always ready to react and I don’t get caught with my pants down.

I know them. The in-game maps can tell you a lot as well.

I can relax a bit while in Hisec but I’m choosing to live in Lowsec. I’m always ready to fight or flight.

I know, it’s in New Players sections, 8 Golden Rules thread.

This is the first time I think about ship insurance since in a month. It’s a waste of time.

all systems are dangerous ! there are no safe place in eve expect a NPC station !

Stargates provide a certain amount of potentially delayed info (as does the ingame star maps):

Gate often camped at PF-346 on both Orvolle and FD-MLJ and then again between FD-MLJ and X-M2LR on both sides of the gate. You’re relatively safe in the surrounding systems.

Edit: Sometimes the K5-JRD gate gets camped at either the X-M2LR or 8V-SJJ ends but less often than the 2 or 3 canps a day for the former.

The problem is EVE was never designed for casual players. Try as they might, the basic game mechanics means it’s hard to turn in it to Candy Crush.

For security standing below-3. high sec systems are extremly dangerous.

Doing business in Misaba can be very dangerous (rumors)

EVE for all kind of players. Yes, cutthroat, but still every players can play, casuel or hardcore, normal or psychopath evryone can leave station and do pewpews on ship or rock and find satisfied playtime.

This is a list of known locations for piracy I copied from here → Eve University Wiki

Akora - 0.32, The Forge

Choke points between regions in space are in bold. For example; if you plot the shortest path from Amarr to Jita, you will pass through Ahbazon. Hek to Jita and you will pass through Rancer. These can be navigated while the pirates sleep or you can bypass these systems. Placing these systems on your avoid list might work for the safer routes but plan for a longer trip. Uedama is technically 0.5 high sec ( but the low end of it ) so you get a lot there from haulers attempts to bypass Ahbazon.

I think the best way to know what is current in game, using the map cog in the upper left. I always have mine set to “Ships Destroyed in the Last Hour”. However you should know the “school systems” will always have high kills from PvP duels, new player losses, and the all too common player killing their alts for a high PvP rating. The hot spots appear in red and orange, mousing over them shows the number of ships lost in the last hour.

I don’t know what is up with the extra decimal place in the security ratings, but I was not the originator of that list. I looked it up and the page hasn’t been touched for 2 years this December.

Have fun!

I don’t have any map cog in the upper left, but I think you mean the star map you get when you press F10. I didn’t know there was an options like that. I now have mine set to “Militia Ships Destroyed in the Last Hour”. This is going to be a big help to see when there is gate camping.

How many players are willing to play that hard anymore?

@MB_ThePhotographer
If you ask me I can say plenty. Interesting to know what data CCP have.
Not like only old generation play hardcore, not about age but taste and play style.

They used to brag about it. Not a peep in over 15 yrs now?
