Deepflow Rift Exploration Site

Was scanning for Cosmic Signatures and happened to find one of these sites.. The scanner listed it as a Combat site… Since I was in my Cheetah, I warped in cloaked to 100KM range to hopefully see what type of Combat site it was…

I had Aura pop-up on my screen saying something about a Spatial Anomaly and needing a Tractor Beam with the possibility of encountering some hostile Rogue Drones… I also had a Tractor Beam Icon show in my HUD right above the Capacitor UI circle where System and Ewar effects show up…

Now when I arrived at the site, I was surprised to see a Probe Frigate circling a W-hole and about every half minute or so, a container would spawn in space which the Probe Frigate would quickly pick up.. Also I didn’t see any Rogue Drone wrecks so I gotta say I’m a bit mystified by this…

Anyway, that’s the reason for this thread… Hopefully somebody can share some info on these sites…

a wormhole appears in the center that you tractor the cans out of for loot. If you tractor to often a bar fills up, if it gets too full drones spawn.

Ahh, thanks for the reply…

So that bar you’re talking about, is that the Tractor Beam Icon above the center UI Cap circle?

Also what kind of Drone force spawns there, large fleet, small group? Hull size? Multiple spawns?

no, the one above your capacitor is a debuff that stops tractor beams auto cycling.
the bar is on the left in the routes/search/opportunites thing.

it spawns about 10ish drone frigates, they don’t warp disrupt or scram though

Ahh, thank you very much…

is that the maximum? or can you spawn more? if you spawn a bunch and leave the grid does the site despawn like some of the homefront sites? asking for me :ccpfalcon:

I’ve done a few of these sites.

Once you start a depflow rift a timer will tick down. I don’t recall how much, like 20 minutes or half an hour?

Three tractor beams is enough to pull all the containers within that time, and can keep the disruption maxed out, without pushing it to 100%.

I once was not careful and accidentally triggered the rats. I could tank them in my Proteus but they were pretty agressive to my drones. I heard the loot of those NPCs is bad, so I warped off.

When I came back the rats were still there, I assume they and the site will stay around while the timer of the site is ticking down.

I’ve been experimenting a bit with them. Built a Tengu that can easily perma tank a full spawn with four tractor beams. Unfortunately though if you do spawn all three the site itself disappears, but there may be a sweet spot you can get to where you can as quickly as possible get most of the cans. As far as the rats go they do Thermal/EM damage and Web, and appear to be weak to Explosive but they seem to have a large EHP pool and are fast orbiting frigates so given the low amount of bounty they arent going to be worthwhile to farm (they will eventually warp off after the site completes or otherwise despawns but it takes a few minutes) The main problem I have with these sites is how absurdly rare they are, I’ve found maybe three of them after jumping through like 35 systems lol

Yea, it isn’t feasible to fly around to look only for these sites, but if you are exploring for relic, data and gas sites anyway it’s nice to have tractor beams to do these sites too when they appear.

These sites drop on average 25-30kk per 10-13 minutes of “fishing” in high sec. So as a content requiring nothing but 3 tractor beams and probe scanner - it is quite nice for newbees. Just don’t overdredge it to 100% as incoming rats (which are tough to kill and worth nothing) pack a punch and will require at least a very decently tanked faction/T2 Cruiser or above to tank damage and continue the site.

Not sure if those containers have any rare drops - never saw anything besides blue loot and red books.
