Details on forthcoming improvements to compression mechanics

So if you made a mistake at work, think it would be fair to get fired and never work in that industry again? A little harsh maybe? lol

WTB BPO’s

Its not seeded yet?
Checked Ore stations LP and Regional marker and nada

New Blueprints:

New fleet-support compressor module blueprint originals are now available for purchase on the NPC Market.

Can be found at all Empire Navy stations
    Caldari Navy
    Republic Fleet
    Amarr Navy
    Federation Navy

ew Medium Industrial Core I blueprint original is now available for purchase on the NPC Market.

Inventable to Tech 2.
Can be found at all Empire Navy stations
    Caldari Navy
    Republic Fleet
    Amarr Navy
    Federation Navy

it is NOT seeded. no need to look, it aint there.

Only BP seeded is medium industrial core

They are not there.

I’d like to be able to buy the blueprints please, CCP

when is the bpo and mods going to be in game

bpos please… every time… every time… “check out this cool new thing!!!” "<.< >.> sounds cool… but where the F is it…

they rollout a big, cool, awesome, spectacular update that nobody can access!! I’ve looked everywhere for the skill books and BPO’s… they aren’t here nor there.

Also, they need to add a high slot to the orca because my orca already has all the high slots filled! 4 boost modules… (2 shield and 2 mining boosts), 1 tractor and the core… that’s all 6 slots filled… and I NEED the tractor… no room for a compressor module. Looks like we will need to have 2 orcas in fleet or else some other ship for mining/shield boosts!

I can find BPO’s this morning. Bought my skill books via contracts as they were dropped in the last event. Spent too much and expect them to be seeded soon for much less.

I plan on loading my Orca, going back to station, refit the orca with the compressor, loading a toons Obelisk with the ore. Then both jumping from station to a safe space to compress.

I hope it’s quicker than taking the 4 jumps in the Obelisk to an Athanor to compress which is what I currently do.

I’m very curious what this is going to do to the Market.

drawbacks of in space operations getting jumped by pc’s or npc’s
nothing is better
have a dst in the loop
i like the way it’s looking a 200km mindfield for the brain torqued
i like the systemic changes it could help invigorize mining
to improve an if we define leadership as a way to involve others to assist in an endeavor
i’d like to see some work in how pilots queue and join fleets an active fc is overburdened by route planing alone staffing a fleet should be easier
looks like i’ll be replacing one porp for another
ccp continues to improve

let’s keep at it guys
a ranges suitable to a mining wing
complex fleets will have complex rewards
ccp thanks for keeping it fresh
i’ve renewed looking forward to more

Hello:

They should expand and add more high slots, for the new modules in the orca and the propoise, and a panic button in a high power slot if it is a shield, in a medium power slot if it is an armor or in a low power slot if it is hull, that only one can be used or activated, something similar to the Bastion Module and have maximum velocity again, or assign more slots for the modules they added and that can only be used with the new items…

o7

The resistance changes are to the modules, not related to ship.
Only the plates, bulkheads and extenders get effected by ship type.

we need a boost icon (like mining cap and shields) so we know when someone is boosting compression in belt…love it!! TY CCP

When will there be books to skill?

Now! now! boys It is “Pressurised Gas”:

Not “compressed” or “Condensed”

To reduce the volume of gas for storage/transportation you pressurise it!

Why the difference?
Compressed solids are compacted under pressure but they remain in a compacted state when the pressure is removed. Example a bale of paper or cardboard.
Gas is pressurised but must be kept inside a container or it will expand (un-pressurise itself.)

Before any smart Alek pipes up what about compressed air. That name comes from the machinery used to make/cause that form of pressurisation, namely a compressor However gas can be pressurised by other means. For example a medium sized module in a Porpoise.

I mean, my pedantic comment was only made in jest. If you want to be serious instead, let’s go there.

Sure, but it is not the only way. Take ideal gas equation of PV=nRT. This relates volume to both pressure and temperature. “Compressed” simply says V⬇ which is pretty straightforward. “Pressurized” says P⬆ which only implies V⬇ instead of a T⬆. “Condensated” says T⬇ which also only implies V⬇ instead of a P⬇.

This is all pedantic stuff that maybe only the lore community cares about. CCP choosing the “Pressurized” language over “Condensated” or “Compressed” just implies the thermodynamic mechanism of the novel (to New Eden) gas compression technology used to reduce volume.

Any of the words are honestly fine, but it’s an objective mistake to think “the only way to reduce volume of a gas is to pressurize it”.

Who started with the “all the pedantic stuff” and who just got arssy when I replied?

And how do we “normally” Transport/store gas? we pressurise it. It is not the only way to reduce the volume but it is the normal way to do, just that, for both transportation & storage.

Sounds very much like it is alright for you to put someone in their box, but nobody else can?

What?

I think you’re reading too much of a certain tone into my post. I thought it was cordial and a fun mental exercise, both in my original joke, and in my reply above.

I’m sorry you read it as me getting defensive. I should instead be saying “thank you” because it was (for me, writing it) a fun distraction.

I was just talking about a video game set in the fantastical future, saying any of the words chosen are fine by the authors of that fantasy make-believe because they’re all reasonably plausible by what we understand about the ideal gas law – a reasonably accessible tidbit of science. They could pick anything at 20,000 years in the future, because it’s fun and who cares about the old earth of 20k years ago?

Having experience with engineered industrial applications of gas, I object to your statement about what’s “normal” in today’s real-life gas storage and transportation, but that’s firmly a digression. I’m not here to police your belief, and I think policing CCP’s choice of words in their fantasy world as being “the only correct one” is an odd hill to die on. We’re probably talking past each other in a diegetic & non-diegetic style of miscommunication.

amazing… this all update! Lost a friend that owned so much, when this all changes pop up… I´m going to alpha soon…

Keep going CCP! Remember your moto: “you can do everything you want… almost!”

Oh cool I was wrong!! Sounded like I couldn’t compress ore in my Orca (which admittedly didn’t make much sense), but that only fleet ships would be able to compress.

Sometimes it’s cool to be wrong
