For a game that seems to pride itself on not dictating game style of play, the non industrialists sure seem to do a lot of dictating. Again…and again. and again and again…
Tried the new compression mechanic last night, it’s great CCP. It would be nice if the compression window would update automatically as ore is mined but it’s only a minor QOL improvement and in no way a complaint.
CCP, have you considered increasing the Custom Office cargo space from the current 35k m3 to 40-50k m3?
there is if you are in fleet and have the compression window open
I still don’t understand why massive, multi-billion ISK citadels still cant compress moon ore.
Why can’t massive, multi-billion ISK citadels mine moon ore? Or use lasers to blow up planets?
Because CCP didn’t design them to do so, for gameplay reasons.
This one’s down to interstellar legislation, probably, like how you can’t do compression in regular stations. Its, in setting, considered a hazardous activity with set limits on where and how it can be performed. The required Industrial solvents and byproducts being particular toxic and assorted compacting equipment being hazardous in itself. in regard to moon ore, explaination wise its probably an extension of that in setting legislation, even if such is a handwave, it fits setting that way.
Well… I did apparently blow up a base belonging to an NPC corp on a moon at one point so… fun stuff can happen, just not really modeled as such in the game itself. This is not an endorsement for trying to blow up planets, just that the setting’s capabilities go beyond just the game.
Gas compression/decompression? Great. Lossy decompression? No! I’ve been asking for this for years. We finally get it and CCP somehow manages to screw it up! Unbelievable. I would love the explanation about how I compress 50m3 into a 1m3 bottle, and somehow only get 45m3 out of it. Where did the other 5m3 go? Back to w-space? Did the Triglavians hijack it? No. Just… ugh.
Yes youll need an orca and yes statipns will still do 0 waste as will an orca. Its decompression that gets the loss
i didnt read this
Even with all the improvements, mining is just not worth the effort. If people are forced to mine a real world job then you already lost. The balance is off.
Is there any way we can get the compression window to gain focus when you right click compress? Often I accidentally minimize compression window instead of close it and then it doesn’t pop back up. Just a QOL issue for me.
@Mace_Mason ---- please correct that…they “USED” to pride themselves on that, now they are subservient to Pearl Abyss, and are monetizing every aspect of the game. Slowly but surely they are changing it all to resemble the average mobile game on your cell phone. Just log in and go straight into PVP, no depth.
Are you upset about mineral losses on repro?
Hi folks - sorry what might be a noob question here.
I have been trying to get the Porpoise compression to work but am failing without a clue why.
I cannot seem to get it to compress Mercoxit.
I have the Medium Industrial core Active and the Medium Asteroid Ore Compressor I active and ships are all within 44km of the indy command ship.
Client opens the compression window but over the ore is a little red X with the message “No ship in your fleet has activate the module necessary for compression of this resource”
Is this something that the Porpoise cannot do ? Is it a skill I am missing.
The same toon in an Orca can compress moon goo just fine.
I guess I’ll try Merc in Orca next to see if that works.
Any thoughts ?
Compressing mercoxit requires a mercoxit specific compression module, that the Porpoise cannot fit.
Well that’s just dandy
Thanks for the answer at least - Damn. Capital Mercoxit Compressor eh ?
Well THATS not happening
There is a Large sized module that fits the Orca
Yah thanks!
CCP Please let us drag the ore to the compression window, right clicking is a pita. My hands are shaky and half the time I jettison my ore
