Dev blog: Black Desert Online makers Pearl Abyss to acquire CCP!

The total sale is for 425mil.
X part of that is contingent on producing Y revenue over period Z, as bonus.

You said the bonus part is 200mill, thus valuing the company at 225mill (as remainder).

Again: ccp need fresh whealty players not bitter and exhausted veterans.
Blizzard done it several times and made loads of money on that.

Also, if all other shares were sold to PA, cashing in his 7% was the smart move.

He sold his stake.
He is no longer financially invested in CCP.

CCP is now 100% owned by Pearl Abyss.

Congratz to Hilmar for acquiring his 3rd Mansion

I think what really sealed the deal was that Hilmar offered Pearl a treasure map that showed where a Russian cruiser full of gold was sunk off of Iceland’s shores.

CODE will have to find something new to do with their time, as high sec will be a fully PvE playground for Level 1-30 pilots, low sec will be consensual PvP only for Levels 31- 50, and null/wh will be full PvP for endgame.

Not only that, they may have required that for the deal to be done.

It would be funny if that was the case as it’s lierally a ‘double your ISK’ scam

@Geo_Eclipse_Oksaras I lived in Korea for a year, they really don’t screw around over there from a business perspective. Simply put, if EVE/CCP doesn’t justify its continued existence in hard financial terms, they will not hesitate to make cuts and ultimately shut down the servers. To them business strategies are ruthlessly executed, and EVE is simply asset to be used to accomplish business goals.

My wallet are fat and I am desirable audience in new Eve Online

Agreed.

Its likely PA wanted 100%, or no deal.

The former stakeholders could have been partly paid in shares of PA.

Selling his stakes doesn’t mean he suddenly stopped being CEO. The CEO is appointed by board of directors aka shareholders and it would be stupid of PA to exchange him from one day to the other.

Yeah, that’s what reinforces my assumption that PA isn’t only (possibly not even mainly) after EVE Online revenue.

no
producing y over z for a bonus
not as a bonus
that wouldnt be a bonus that would just be a company making profit on normal terms

i actually said it was 225 but that figure is irrelevant as it is just a guess
basically im saying pa see ccp as being worth 200m to them liquidated
but if ccp can reach targets then they can save themselves from liquidation by remaining profitable through their standard operations
and if they can do that then they are worth 425m to pa

that is how i see things

You.
You are smart.
I want you in my corp.
Send my main a mail.
See this as a test.
It is easy!
See?

Wow-clone in space will have wow-profit in PA pockets and everyone will be happy !!!

:yen::pound::euro::dollar:

Any shareholders were CCP shareholders. PA owes them little consideration, if any at all.

My wallet is fat too, but i’m not a victim.

Were they though? I thought CCP was owned by several investment groups for whom shares in CCP were only a minor part of their portfolio.

Don’t forget CCP added the mechanic that allows pirates to hang out in High-Sec and gank every new player that happens to fly by. Maybe CCP has just given up and doesn’t want new players.
