Drugs are different story and don’t last long, I was thinking about extra features we might be able get only by paying online and that might be untradeable and last for a week or longer. Like when i played Travian some ten years ago and could get +25% resource production in that game for real money.
Or how about paying to have an extra slot on a ship? No drugs, skills or implants allow that.

Just a hunch but Pearl Abyss was probably thinking that they want to get into Sci-fi MMO market, and instead of starting a new IP deciced they’d get an established one.

I’d tend to agree, EvE and CCP have a number of groundbreaking details that any Company and/or game will have greate use for.
Eve’s node structure to handle the game, CCPs amount of statistics in every turn of eve and its user to develop & alter the enviroment. The economics of eve & its statistics of realtime flow. tons of more details.

I honestly miss the afk mining while doing homework and talking to eve friends,
The corporations were more active back then & had a good reason to just sitt around & s*** talk.
Now days its just afk untill fleet ping or i don’t have time to mine in eve i got things to do so i’ll watch a movie instead of eve.
Eve have become only active high octane gaming reasently.

If they go P2W they’ll lose all the players that make EvE what it is. If they go the lootbox route they’ll hit problems with anti-gambling regulations very quickly in European countries at least.

No need to ask them, we already know everything with a bit of tinfoil here and there. 
We’ve had lootboxes for a while. Difference is in the future you can pay for them.
Which then becomes gambling if it’s random with the hope of ‘winning’ a better item by paying. It’s a very fine line to walk, and if they try I think they’ll fall foul of such legislation just as EA did with Star Wars BF2 (which I do enjoy playing, but never paid anything extra).
