[Devblog] Equinox Mining Balance, Philosophy and Learnings - Devblog Feedback Thread

I’ve lived in Null space, I know what it’s like.

I’ve been the salvager running Sanctums and Havens with guys from the corp, I’ve been providing mining boosts for the corp for both asteroids and Ice.

I’ve mined solo many times waiting for others to log on.

I’ve sat on gate camps to protect our rented space etc.

It was my/our decision to do that, no compensation was ever expected, or needed.

Eventually the corp closed after everything got stolen overnight and we split up through space, I went to HS, where I still am.

it’s not because youpalyer decide to do a thing solo that means you do’nt have people who have defend conquer and other thing for sov.
if we decide HS have same rentability as 0.0 for mining, don’t cry to see no miner and content in 0.0.
because at the end of the day if all tedium is not rentable, that means people will just stop.

So it’s not because you decide to profit youre alliance level wealth solo youre alliance don’t spend time on this. So this need to be paid in rentability.

Edit: KB checked ; providence before all change of sov youre 0.0. Thank to proove you don’t know what you are speacking.

Edit 2 : Youre opinion <<<<<<<<FACT , fact is when 0.0 is less rentable people go HS so 0.0 have less content . Proof by ZKB, proof by you who stay in HS now.

This was an alt before becoming my main, that main no longer exists and just because I lost no ships in null means nothing.

Honestly, trying to check someone’s kb to try and prove something is so sad.

Some on here know who my main was and I’ll leave it at that.

BTW , Yumping Amok wasn’t in Prov space, we rented in null.

Nor was Massive Dynamic and a couple of others.

Ok so you was renting when ? because 2023 the change was not here at all.

And good level of 0.0 production is when people in other part of safe space cry 0.0 is to wealthy and they need to move in. Why ? Because who will need in the more tedium space with no security other than player if you could safest way doing the same?

Actually for mining you need :
A system who could mine, multiple system around for workforce, you need so skyhook and protect they. After you need building, you need also capture the leand (and keep it).
You need more logistic than HS.
You need more management than HS (youre corp who disapear overnight is a proof in 0.0 people need to be very carrefull, in HS you could grab back for free youre stuff).
You need to be sure you don’t get mercanaary den (or not unctrolled) on skyhook.

Then you could have people who do mining.

Now hs : undock and mine.

you get the difference of tedium and why 0.0 must paid a lot more ?

@CCP_Okami
Thank you for the comprehensive write-up and idea sharing concerning Equinox. Your comments on Waste triggered some thoughts on how this could be developed into an interesting and enriching aspect of game play.
My thoughts on this are not fully developed - this is a brainstorm offered in the hope of triggering some discussion and refinement of the basic idea.

I’d like to see

  • Waste should become a much more integral part of game play.
  • A special ship supported by very unique skills could recover waste from a mining ship.
  • Remora is a name that comes to mind.
  • The “Remora” picks up most of the scraps and the host benefits perhaps with a yield buff or perhaps extraction of a unique ore or perhaps assisting in exclusively locating a particularly rich target
  • It might be fun if the Remora was necessarily not in Fleet, Corp or
Alliance. In my vision it is a 100% independent player and that the implementation drives a new type of play
  • Damaging a Remora or even failing to aide or defend one night result in a standings loss and reduced waste recovery.
  • There should be no feasible way to be parasitic on one’s own mining. Perhaps a particular type of rat might drive these Remora into new systems for a spell or perhaps the mutual benefits of the relationship decline to near zero over a period of time.
  • Remora might profit from selling the locations of mining fleets or rich ores
Thanks for thinking about this =
    Cheers

I like the idea of a waste/salvage ship. Maybe the T2 version of the “upgraded Noctis” I was throwing around. “Remora” is perfect!

I don’t care about Null vs. High Sec when it comes to which one means more. Null game play sucks. It really does. Some people love it and that’s fine. But those people liking it there in no way means that High Sec is bad or that those in High Sec mean nothing. I frankly hate Null Sec. I will always hate Null Sec. Living there is frustrating and boring.

Adding content to High Sec is not a bad thing. It’s a good thing because players pay money to play this game in High Sec just like players pay money to play in Null Sec. CCP needs money for this game to survive. Thus, CCP needs centent in BOTH areas or people will leave and quit paying money.

High-sec, low-sec and wormhole space really deserve a solid year (each) of updates, enhancements and bug fixes. F*ck null-sec. It’s not like they’re really doing much these days anyway…

Addign cotnent to Hi sec is not the question, question is about the rentability spread.

For Arthur upper : 0.0 don’t do anithyung because of perma nerfing.
LS have a good expension for FW
Hs have good expension and event

0.0 get just nerf after nerf. All change done since blackotu are nerf. So imagine i remove all ORE from all other space , and content. You will enjoy ? No . CCP just need to repair the thjing they break.

Understand me : We need back roraqual era level of production, HS have a lot less tedium than HS, so yes add conteznt to HS if you want , but 0.0 rentability must be a lot more than HS ( and actually not the case)

Null-sec alliances generally don’t do anything because they’re inherently lazy. Unless it’s to petition for more ways to crowd-out smaller groups or any kind of competition whatsoever.

Zkill said youre wrong.
They are not lazy they have hard time to produce since scarcity.
FACT> what you think again

When was the last major war? 3 years ago? 5 years ago? They don’t call it the blue donut for nothing…

Since when is the scarcity ?

Now you have youre answer. You realise ? Scarcity is the cause of stagnatation.
You want 0.0 to do thing? revert scarcity that all. CCP need to manage 0.0 because they have scarcity it that all.

Deal with it it’s a fact.

Edit : Zkill said youre wrong => when scarcity was not here 0.0 do thing, when scarcity no war. You missunderstand my previous message and just confirm what i was saying: congratulation

Edit 2: blue donut don’t exist, it’s people who blame 0.0 for not going full war everytime, but if 0.0 go full war and a side loose everything because something happen ad other side have a lot of remain titans… The side who loose with actual state of economy is dead for a multiple decade AND they"re is no reward to going full war. SCARCITY made 0.0 reward less than HS. So why fight for useless sov ?
Next time before saying blue donuts remind you why in real life country don’t made permanent war , because human ressources was not unlimited like here ship are not unlimited. Before post, please start by thinking of what you are writting.

No one cares about renting systems in null sec.

where i speack of renting in null?

Reread you confound me and the other writer, i don’t speack of renting at all.

edit: doublepost

No.

First you have to fight a war in which all of Nullsec loses like 90% of their stockpiled Capitals and Supercapitals.

THEN you can go back to production again.

It will not happen, it’s what CCP hope, but no one will do it.
If you failled this war and CCP don’t do what you ask you are kill for multiple decade.

So basically made rorqual era level of production and you will have massive war. Don’t do it and you will have stockpile for 20 more year.

Easy to understand no ?

Oh? You wrote all of this:

that not about renting.
That about the fact 0.0 require a lot more tedium than 0.0.

if you can’t understand that, you proof you don’t even know how 0.0 work
