UO and Trammel if any of you recalls
Very nice change for new players defintely a live changer for the new players that might/are coming to eve, hope people will finally realise this is 2019 and eve need more players from this ERA
I Personally hope for another QoL change that new players are able to change skills under 5M SKILL points in whatever direction they want without having to fear the consequences, that way EvE will also be easier to understand and all jobs would be able to be pursuit by the player. Hell you could give them a 5M skill point head start and let them decide what and which role/job they want to perform, with a limit of 10M skill points, to be able to change your profession.
I think it’s a bad idea. It’s a dumbing down of EVE as far as I’m concerned. Null folks will rejoice for not having to fly or jump to highsec anymore, but some people will lose part of their trading if they supply far away corners with skillbooks. Overall, it takes away from interaction within the game.
Yeah and ■■■■ veterans who play for years because ■■■■ them they dont deserve ■■■■.
I agree, the probability of high loss is also the source of a feeling of accmplishment and reward if you succeed.
If nothing I do does not matter anymore, why play the game?
You do not understand EVE. You do not need to change profession. You can train whatever skill you want to do whatever activity you want. There are no professions in EVE and over time you can become anything. There are no training mistakes. If anything there are only slight delays. The way you think is another root that causes EVE to have issues.
Thinking further about this …
The change is undeniably nice for new players. And I hope they all flock to CFC. I want new muppets in Delve to farm them. But this change will not bring these people. Just like most other “new player improvement changes” have not brought in more people or made more people stay.
I do recall. I was there.
There is no comparison. This is a positive change.
Siege Perilous player btw
DF here
And now to be really nasty, what about walkable stations, where players can meet ?
Has everyone forgotten
It’s dumbing the game down even more. It’s taking away the work needed to get things done and removing from the overall immersion and the sense of achievement that even the small and sometimes dangerous tasks a pilot has/had to do to get ahead.
I wonder how long it will be before the buy skill option has ’ purchase with isk or plex?’ next to it…
The only reason why EvE is considered “Hard” is because of the time gating (back in the area or mobile games are wait for a certain time in order to do anything), it requires time in order to perform, allowing newer players to perform in every job (with just 5M skill points) is considered “normal” these days.
They don’t become immediately good at it, that requires “Skill”, actually doing something into the game is the main priorirty of this game, the waiting game is over. @Veterans, the years pass by and its time to see that the way you want it to be played will not be possible in the year 2019. #GetOverIt
Agree, that’s because the new game generation is PS4, phone players. CCP need to direct the game at the generation that is playing it not the “younger” crowd that is not interested in long term play… OH hang on that’s why the changes, just give it to them and they will come.
Most people never wanted it. I miss the potential it would have created for amazing experiences. But CCP butchered that as well with the horrible implementation of the CQ. Taking dozens of seconds to load made it utterly unfeasible as a valid option besides the hangar view.
Walking through stations, through bazars, bars, theaters, observation decks, witnessing murders, trade, conversations, eavesdropping on other people, dropping by at a party, etc… Setting up illegal operations or bases in stations … It could be amazing.
I do not agree, cause having the skills to fly a ship, does not get you aquainted with game mechanics, overview settings and so on…
EVE still has a learning curve, not only because of the skill queue. Its the complexity EVE offers. So even if you can pay for skills and ships, you can not pay to win…
So to me these changes are fine, even if I do not see why they picked skills first…
But that would spoil the fun of bitching about absolutely everything that CCP do !
Makes sense to me, helps out newbros. Good changes imo!
I hope they will give new players 5M skill points to everyone who that starts a new, and are allowed to change stuff around the way they like. Come on 5M skill points isn’t much, in order to test out what they would like to do.
Also at the other guy who started swearing at me, only makes me feel I am more right then wronged.
You forgot “mass hysteria”.
What plans, if any, does CCP have for adjusting loot drop tables where general skill books are routinely dropped?
