For purposes of denigrating this change the argument is that if a player isnt out fetching a skill book means they arent out in space. Realistically that player is going to be out doing something else(GASP THAT THEY ACTUALLY ENJOY) in space beyond just flying a cheap(likely instawarp and non engage-able) ship back and forth to a school book system.
5 Milion SP is jsut more than enough to delete my existing PI alts which have less than 5m SP and can run PI perfectly. And start new ones just to shift all PI skill to level 5 and still have enough skillpoints to teach them how to be a cloacky campers. Just so then i can find you ingame and camp the ā ā ā ā out of whatever you do because that sounds fun and engaging,
Well, no need to go out of my wormhole anymore !

Welcome to EVE Online : Battle Royale.
Corp and Alliance management need a make over first, with acls for hanger access
Absolutely not. 5m free SP just for starting a new character? Thatās absurd.
Thereās a reason skills take time to train, and you can skill try out new things without investing millions of skill points into it⦠heck, you can normally try out new activities in about 10 hours training time. Not well, but at least figure out the mechanics⦠the remaining time is proficiency while you train efficiency.
Your logic, youāre essentially giving players 10 large skill injectors ⦠Your suggestion is a step to removing training time entirely, and completely altering a system that isnāt broken and doesnāt need fixing.
Let me know when you do, Iāll join you.
Iāll join you too, please.
Dev time isnāt fungible, smart guy.
Also, tell me more about the dangerous task of maintaining a jump clone in a school system.
The funny thing is that they werenāt even doing that ā they were maintaining a jump clone in a school system.
And do not forget all those people who put hard work in for aquring all those skills, they may have payed a lot of subscription fees or plex = rl money to get them.
Hadnāt thought of it that way honestly.
My initial thought was ābut what about the skills that require people to travel to low-sec to purchase so they can train?ā
I know there will always be ācarebearsā in the game, but I guess I want to still have mechanics/reasons that hi-sec players will need to travel outside of their comfort zone, and expose them to other aspects of the game, and threats to that I have a bias against. ^ ^
Canāt avoid the envitable.
I hope this changes brings more people like this guy into EVE.
Actually you can quit whenever you wantā¦
I see it that way:
I play as long as its fun, if its not I stop ,-)
Game is still fun, so I guess were good hereā¦
Just pointing out the facts what players of 2019 need. I mean in the end they did make a video for this time and area, where they are headed Iām sure will require to ignore veterans of old.
Merkelchen is obviously trolling. He was probably part of the initial discussion about this change with other CSM members that why he is defending it so much.
Spending 5 minutes in half a year to buy some books is not taking away anything from ur āusefulā gametime. Eve is not counter strike. Its not a rush.
Thatās probably only a weeks worth of mining for him xD
Changeās to the sp system is great, It will make things easier for new players and help retain them easier.
I guess by now we all spent more time in this thread than we have been out buying skillbooks during the last year
This can be true, and the change is still be a good idea despite it.
If skillbook prices are reduced, will players with those skills injected be refunded the ISK difference?
