No it’s not, allowing remote injection of a skill would be enough to accomplish that. This has ‘setting things up for micro transactions’ all over it the more I think about it.
This removes the need for new players to explore there surroundings and learn new things. It dumbifies the process and tries to ‘fix’ something not broken.
Will you make a list of skills that will be available on this new auto inject system.
As long as you keep the old system. I think this will work. However will you also be encouraging players to move to different systems to teach them how to purchase stuff from Trade hubs like Dodi, Jita, Amarr and Rens?
Those, who cannnot buy a skillbok as a newbie, shouldn’t play the game. Actually you made to learn the market with the starting missions, becouse you have to buy things from it. Devs forget it? And instead of this ■■■■■■■■ you should make videos about the market, and make available to newbies.
If you want to make this change (what totally not needed for anybody), do it. But do not try to see the actuall players so dumb, that they would eat this “make easier” bullcrap. We getting close to the lvl of any other brainless mmorpg.
When your argument against any kind of iterative change to this game is that it will allow “dumb” people comfort and not honor your incredible intellect I think you should find a mirror for a glimpse at the real problem.
Its a great QOL change that doesnt make the game a millimeter more shallow in its complexity but still allows a new person to not be completely swamped with that complexity the second they start playing. Ive tried to bring a dozen of my friends(not dumb) to the game and with a thousand little paper cuts like this stuff I couldnt ever(edit, spelling) convince them to stay. Give it a chance.
“No, I don’t like change and change is bad. By the way, can you change this list of things in the game?”
I personally don’t get why some are trying to make an argument that the change somehow “dumbs down” the game. EVE has never been as overly-complex as people make it out to be - it’s just a matter of presenting information when it’s needed at the right time.
This is something that’ll help with new players, but still keep the game more or less the same as it’s been.
