just creating more tedium, doesnt stop anything and wastes more of my time to achieve nothing. Not supporting nonsensical gameplay changes and would rather win eve.
All I have to do is make 10 alt accounts trained into ravens and your changes become a joke.
After reading the capacitor update I, as a null sec resident, want to tell Fenris to just delete the Ansiblex as Upwell structure and be done with it.
Spending a lot of time trying to come up with a system that looks like the company hasn’t totally thrown in with the filamenting nano-gang crowd is a waste of development and designer time.
The intent is clear, so just delete them and move on. Find something useful to do with limited dev time rather than this sort of nonsense.
So, looks like you can move 1 battleship every 1.5 hours through an ansi in zone 5. Big alliances are going to have to be very careful using these. Ansis under 5 light years from capital will be magical, those a long way from the capital will be virtually unusable on these maths.
Even in zone 2 it’s 33 marauders to deplete a full ansi, with a 6 hour recharge. Or put another way..100 capsules per hour in zone 2 is max traffic and in zone 5 this would be 13 per hour.
Unless they go 0x 1x(75BS,150kiki) 1,5x(50BS,100kiki) 2x(37BS,75kiki) 2,5x(30BS,60) I dont see anyone using JBs anymore. Might as well just reroute power and manpower to some other upgrade and get used to them not existing.
A Battleship is the cost of 2 Destroyers…
1 cruiser costs as much as 10 exhumers…
What happened to mass based capacitor use?
My Machariel is 96 million kilograms
A kikimora is 1.5 milion kilograms
You telling me 2 kikimora 3milion is = 96 milion?
Yeah go back to the drawing board Okami. Or should i say whoever come up with this and stapled Okami on it.
Also why do we have different points for different classes of the same ship size? This is not the AT its not a point system.
Wormholes use mass. If you used mass for both you would tangle 2 different systems together. This way you can tune the numbers and not affect other parts of the game.
However, the discussion about the cost of each ship class is useful and shows people are already working out the meta.
We humans have a tendency to optimise in ways that can’t be calculated!
If the optimal route will become that not using them is just straight up easier than being at the mercy of Spai alts jumping 5 Battleship before a fleet to clog the network then obviously there is a gigantic flaw in the system. And someone doesnt know what they are doing.
What would it take to make a few alts get it into a huge block and jump around a few destroyer to decap jump bridges. Nothing.
You see at that point not using them ever becomes an option of least resistance.
No thinking needed, no puzzle to solve as Okami would want us.
There is alreadya solution to that. And it requires 0 travel with 1000% power projection. The biggerthe alliance the stronger this method is…
Alpha Ferox alts.
You can fly a ferox with T2 guns as an alpha and have one trained on a unused or empty slot of ur account. I run 3 accounts so i can have up to 6 of these spread across our territory to log in whenever someone attack that region.
I dont know why they think this solves power projection when we already have/had the workaround.
So, the capacitor use calc is done based only on the distance of the exit ansi from the aliance HQ system. – Do both sides of the ansiplex burn that capacitor cost?
IE do I need to plan on having people slow boat back to staging?
Or will the return trip presumably cost less?
In the current design my alliance that lives in a single region has an ansi pair that has an entrance in zone 2 and and exit in zone 3. I’m seriously skeptical of being able to send a standing fleet response of 6-12 cruiser / battlecruiser + 3 or so wormhole rolling battleships through that ansi. If that’s not viable, anyone using our space on the periphery who wants to defend an ESS or similar is likely looking at fighting on their own. Additionally, when the content is active, we’re sending our standing fleet after things every 10-15 minutes for a few hours straight. The fact that we won’t know as a group how much juice is left on the ansi is equally troubling. Our FC team needs to be able to make a snap judgement call at all times that tells us if we’re burning to an ansi, or burning jump fatigue with a bridge titan or conduit carrier.
Based on the capacitor post, I only see three options here:
Just delete Ansiblex. Because all your “solutions” are contrtived.
Go completely off the current board and do something like heavily restricting the types of ships that can use Ansiblex and leave everything else alone, including ACLs. Since you are already dealing in insanity, this could be like only allowing non-combat ship types to use Ansiblex. Industrial ships (mining, hauling, mining command, etc.), logistics ships, and capsules.
If there are no small alliances its not a problem that they canttake space. It all logical. Just merge into a large alliance so you are not categorized as a small one anymore. Problem solved.
I would consider alliance number based usage, it updates at DT and last 7 days average is the base:
Under 1000 alliance members, ansi will nearly as useful as right now, with small restrictions.
1000-3000 alliance member: moderate restrictoins, but still semi useful.
3000-5000 alliance members: more restritions,
5000+ : full restriction, mabye not even useable, or doesnt worth, whatever.
If the last DT had 10%+ member change, biggest number will be the base.
Ansi use restriction updates at DT, if I join alliance now, I cant use it, have to wait DT.
Therefore ppl cant form 1000 man corp that swapping alliance for pvp and exploit the system.
This way, you can add extra support to small alliances, they can organise better homedef and such, they get some extra bonus compered to bigger enemies. Ofc ansi can be blocked so its not a very huge help, but still something thats good.
Big allies will do their work to keep up, we will survive, im sure.
This not only kills them for fleets (which was expected and honestly fine) it also kills them for any reasonable amount of travel to get people out from under the response umbrella’s to use the space and get caught.
I was expecting small numbers of ships to be able to use them regularly, not this system where on the outer rings just 3-4 ships can zero it out and even anything more then a few frigates an hour will result in the same thing.
The hourly tick rate on the capacitor is also terrible with these numbers, it almost guarantees that if anyone is actually trying to use the ansi’s they will be stuck at 0 cap.
Did you honestly think they weren’t going to be nerfed into oblivion? I thought it was pretty clear from the outset that power projection was going to be heavily curtailed.
