Already did it. And it drops the war into the 24 hour statis.

Ok, some thoughts:

  • fixing wardec loopholes: :+1:
  • Fixing neutral logi: I approve but isn’t going to change much. The people complaining about neutral logi today are just going to be complaining about red logi come April. Still, it’s better to have them in the war than not.
  • WarHQ: at first I was a little worried, but upon digesting the nuances I think this is fine. The time frame of structure combat, and the ability to use alternate corps and alternate HQs, will prevent the big groups from shutting down someone’s ability to declare war. The cost might be higher which will affect the solo and small wardec groups, but the big blob won’t completely dominate.
  • new war costs: :+1:
  • mutual wars and better UI: sure, why not?

None of this gives new reasons to declare war which I find a little disappointing, but at least there is now effectively a social corp and some way to force a fight with an aggressor. I’d like to see some more restrictions on the war immune corp, and some more carrots to get people to open themselves to wars or declare them, but this is I guess all we’ll get for now.

And… yea, If you get to last a week with a low power unfitted engineering complex against the marminte group then I guess you get two weeks of peace. And you won’t be war dec able until you drop another cheap structure.

Also joining a stronger alliance and thus becoming the agressor is not a loophole. Ask Italy about it they know.

It would be great to add simple summary bar graph for each war to show who is winner. Like:

defender <----||||||||||||||||||||||> attacker
total 500m isk destroyed | total 800m destroyed

I am so glad you listened in terms of having the HQ in hisec. I am also glad you used that to end the war, again another thing I suggested. I think being able to select your HQ for each war enables a strategic advantages in terms of making your enemy run a gauntlet for example to get to it. Which is fine. One of the things I thought would be good was having all wars linked to a specific structure but understand why you did not do it.

Declaring the war dec HQ in the war was also something I suggested and I am glad to see that you did this too.

This HQ approach solves the issue that was very important, consequences for hisec entities declaring war against the wrong people. It is very important and I am so so happy you did this. However that consequence is watered down if for example PIRAT always use a cheap Astrahus for their war decs against the Goons…

I am in two minds in terms of neutral logi, because I would really like allies to be able to rep and this actually downgrades the chance for defenders to gang up, but I understand the issues of doing that without creating some nasty exploits. What it will do is open up the play to go after the pipe campers.

Hmm, is it possible to aquire lot’s of poco’s now in high sec then remove all your other structures so that its impossible for anyone to wardec you or kill them?

Can you elaborate, what is complicated to include all allies into the calculation?

With this solution you are screwed if your corp is too small to muster a complete and competitive fleet, as nobody is able to help you. This is completely illogical, while keeping the ally mechanic.

May changes - I like it though I wish it were region based, not all of highsec.

I would like to answer this for @CCP_Lebowski, though I am sure he will answer for himself, part of the objective must be to develop more meaningful hisec entities, so if it pushes people to gang up more within an alliance to be able to compete, it is a good thing for hisec.

In terms of the allies, it gets really complicated with certain war deckers having wars against others and ending up being allies with them in another war.

Trying to push people to do something else by removing common sense options is never a good idea.

Don’t forget that a major part of this is to change attitudes, you can only do so much with mechanics.

Can you also look into the following changes for war decs

Mercenary system

  • move the “corporations for hire” into another separate gui in social section in the nav.
  • add a “per kill” and “victory value offered” and a “max kill paid” option as well as a “bonus if killed, paid this amount” option
  • set in a tab for the current “find merc corporations”
  • add another tab for the same gui for corporations to “post for help” which has the coded mechanics of removing isk from the corporate wallet.
  • enable mercenary corporations to exit contracts when the hired corporation cannot pay the values (or set it up to remove the isk on the contract creation)

In terms of remote assistance and fleet support…
If a toon is in a fleet, and is engaged in pvp for war or otherwise in HS…
Why not have any character that is in fleet but not corp or alliance, and provides reps or boosts enter a limited engagement with all members that the recipient of this support is involved in a limited engagement with? That way neutral support that can not be identified can be on the field, but as soon as a logi or booster affects a toon in combat that support ship enters the combat as well, as opposed to concord.
Have concord affect non fleet logi providing reps during a pvp battle.

im happy about all these changes other then war dec cost, i think wars should be more expensive to declare war.

I don’t think their should be a cap on it either, it should be starting at 100 million and go up, i think declaring on massive alliance should cost 10+ billion a week.

I also think that corporations, especially smaller ones based in high sec that get troll war deced all the time should get some help in this department too, the more often a corp is the target of war, the cost should increase… at some point in the passed it increased based on how many wars you had active, but i think it should be how many wars your the target of in the last 90 days.

This changes will not morph highsec carebears into PvPers. Also bashing a Fortizar in Aridia highsec will not suddenly become fun.
