Discussion Of The Implications Of Niarja's Invasion

Well, yes, I agree with that. If grinding was fun…but its not. Most time while grinding in EVE I watch youtube and do alt+tab. Lol.

Warpdrive…
jumping…

Yes. The ability to not actually play the game, but instead just alt-tab and watch something is part of the problem. The game literally plays itself, so no wonder it’s boring.

In my opinion, the fixes required are fundamental changes to the game. Unfortunately, CCP probably don’t perceive these changes as worth the time, given that the game is currently doing just fine financially. As well as, maybe these changes are not even possible with the current code base.

when I started out, I skilled up on transport ships because the chances of being ganked whilst travelling from Jita to Amarr where so great that I wanted that extra survivabilty inherent with the class. Or you could fit out the largest load carrying cruiser as a small cargo vessel. Ah, the good old days when a systems Sec status in Hi sec actually meant something. This little upset has actually made life interesting again.

Removed a post breaking forum rules (and the now out-of-context reply)

“Sure it drives emergent content, but you can get that anywhere. Motivation to fight each other doesn’t increase anyone’s ability to do so.”

That’s you, Lucas.

Let them unsub, they are the reason why the game has a bot problem.

Niarja falling has been a welcome relief to many while a dread to others.

A relief because CODE has lost one of its major ganking systems which equates to a loss of wealth with the result being that CODE is now less effective in High Sec, slightly.

The dread is that fool freighter pilots would only try Niarja as would any pilot not aligned with Test or the Triglavians. Niarja is a camped system 24/7 now.

The commercial route through Niarja is dead. This means freighter pilots will have to find other ways around Niarja which will slow shipments down greatly and will effect High Sec colonization and war routes greatly, hence the reason why Test is present in Niarja.

Niarja will become a safe haven for loyal Kybers to build fleets in and then gank the surrounding systems on a daily basis. Basically I see Test providing Kybers with the assets they need to gank the surrounding systems without High Sec putting up much of a defense. With the systems surrounding Niarja cleaned out, Test can continue to take out High Sec citadel assets and then replace them with their own, A Keepstar in Niarja and the surrounding systems heavily fortified.

Slowly Test would move some of their Null Sec assets into Niarja to further base their ganks and war decs from against High Sec corporations and alliances in a move to control High Sec assets for their continued wars in Null.

I am pretty sure there is more planned here. These invaded systems aren’t going to exist as-is forever. Once the Invasion Chapter 3 is complete and the map settled, they will be permanently changed to proper Trig space and serve as the basis of the next new feature, probably acting as conduits to new Trig space, or maybe on it’s own as a exist as a separate linked network of space. They won’t just be more CONCORD-free empty systems but will be a new type of space with new mechanics and content.

Which is fine. Highsec can afford to lose a few dozen systems to be where CCP puts their new content. Abyss pockets always seemed gimmicky and outside the New Eden anyway, so I am glad CCP has found a way to integrate the Triglavians with existing universe.

Maybe, but I think more either the Trig space, or maybe the EDENCOM systems will become new perfectly safe space where new players will start all together as part of a completely redone NPE, as well as act as the link to new space. I kinda doubt player-owned stargates are going to be used with these systems directly, but they will be a a springboard to Jove space or somewhere else where CCP will finally release this long-promised mechanic.

If so, then Niarja is a perfect place for a doorway into this new space.

I dont think so. The security status may be a bit improved tho.

Only because of CCP’s idiotic choice to remove player agency and make it impossible to opt out of the NPC conflict. If you remove the automatic death by god-level NPCs then Niarja becomes an interesting PvP battleground because anyone who can successfully seize control over the system gains an instant trade advantage over the people who are still forced to go 45 jumps to avoid it.

(Not that I expect lazy PvE farmers to bother attempting to fight off the gatecamps instead of whining on the forums and demanding a new easy mode route around Niarja, but it’s at least theoretically possible.)

And guess what: the price for 9 jumps is less than the price for 45 jumps. A hauler or trader with access to Niarja has an advantage over one without access. This creates incentive to fight for control of the system and generate content.

These discussions are weird to me, because you have everyone talking about something that is actually happening but putting their own ideological slant on it.

You all do know that you can just Watch Niarja and other invaded systems for a while and see what happens and then, you know, form an opinion based on facts you gather.

rofl, who am I kidding?

My Corp does quite well two jumps from Jita. We mine, build, mission, and transport all to Jita. I do hope that Dodixie and the others find their way instead of completely dieing off.

before niarja fall i lived in low and sold my stuff in jita
now im OUT of jita
seems like people are not doing it , sold some left stuff there and 1700 in local
i recommend moving to amarr , I’m doing it

What are you going to do with ships and resources that you don’t need?

Sell them? For how much? Considering that everyone else is doing the same?

This invasion means CCP just keep on doing what they want without any consideration of players. They don’t like high-sec system so they changed one to low-sec. They hates PVE players so they kicked some off. Things will going on until there are only players CCP like.

And nothing of value was lost.

Now that you understand the situation, you can choose whether you want to either quit or stop whining.

If you’re gonna use other people’s material, you should credit the source.
