i was considering coming back but y’know i think im good. rlly put that milking phase into full gear and it’s terminal from here. but y’know what?
lol @ ccp for wasting money and time on failed projects and concepts for over a decade. with that time we’d have EVE 2.0 with a more robust engine
with player/player-related data ported over. maybe even an FPS to compliment it.
think ill chill on other games until an actual space mmo worth playing is developed.

don’t give a damn if my post is removed or whatever. yall have fun with this garbage
no you can’t have my stuff because i already uninstalled

you can still log in and give me your isk

Enough of this temper tantrum.

Now be a good boy, reinstall the game and give Zaera all your stuff.

Zaera be friend long time.

How petty and selfish won’t you think of the children newbros who might enjoy that stuff? You can always donate to @Mike_Azariah’s Magic School Bus giveaway if you don’t want to bother giving the stuff away yourself.

It appears to me that russian players are still all alive and well, I suppose they just had to figure out how to re-route the money

Why the store seems to be showing ā€œnewā€ prices already? Shouldn’t we be able to buy subscription using ā€œoldā€ pricing until 17?!

You know this thread is one year old right?

Take a deep breath and reflect on what you just posted…

This should be closed ages ago.

Haha, you got me  I haven’t checked a date assuming such discussion would be closed looong ago if it wouldn’t be ā€œcurrent thingā€. Thanks for pointing this out.

So what?

and ? it’s still important

No, it is not.

Your opinion is irrelevant

Like yours is :face_with_hand_over_mouth::rofl:

Irrelevant (see above)

I speak for myself here, and myself alone.

I am very much on the poor end in life. Hell, I’m maybe two months from beginning to default on some of my debts. I am renting at a dilapidated hoarder house, because the rent is like 40% below regional average, and I can exchange labor for rent to some degree. I may be skipping meals sooner than later. For over ten years of my adult life, I rode a bicycle and slept on couches. I say all of this to establish I know poverty, and inherently resist upticks in cost of living.

But, I started EVE around 2008-2009, and for my earliest days, I was subbing on a rent to own laptop while living in a tent, and logged in a for a couple of missions a day at McDonald’s. My homeless pal turned me on to this great game back then. From my first day to today, the game has never been perfect, and full of minor flaws, imbalance issues and wonks making undocking an occasional ass ache.

My play style is decidedly risk-averse and carebear af. I have been pretty unlucky irl, and that trend often follows me into gaming. And as the above may insinuate, my investments in entertainment could easily be used more productively. Indeed, gaming for me is undoubtedly a vice. Still, spaceships and spreadsheets, or some Skyrim, or Satisfactory are…well, I feel less harmful than sex addiction, drug use or proper gambling.

So $5 extra more for a sub, when I carry two to three active accounts on EVE stings, no doubt. It’s going to reign in my purchases of SP, PLEX, and packs. But I will be buying less of these regardless, as life continues to kick me in the jewels.

I have been clinching my butthole since CCP sold out to the owners of Black Desert Online, as that game is legendary for milking real-world currency from players. But if we take feelings out of the equation, EVE has been heading that way since 2011. Since the monocle. I resent buying SP as an option no small amount, even though I have bought a few million myself. And there have been many hard times online during my small vacations from reality, like CODE, and other fuel sources for exasperated sighs.

There are many subscribing players who have it way better in real life than I do, who are quibbling over a difference of $5 a month. The tightrope I am marched down at metaphorical gunpoint is that it hurts me more than most people griping, and I myself am NOT enthusiastic to persistently pay more to gain access to the expanded skills and ships in my happy place. And I am not so naive as to believe that the extra subscription money will reliably find its way to exclusively making EVE better, be it QoL, fixes or new content. I’m not going to simp and declare it couldn’t be avoided either.

…But I’m going to stay subbed as best I can.

Because EVE is indeed my happy place. Many of my favorite elements have been removed or mutilated. There will eternally be bad faith actors in game that deride and target my risk-averse play habits with griefing and such. There are many alternative games, and a reasonable pile of MMOs among them. None of them even remotely resemble EVE.

I have had a few romantic relationships, and a good many more friendships. If EVE were a person, it has definitely hurt and exploited my naivetĆ©, but among the most harmful and sick connections I have had with folk, I will state EVE is downright benign, and the cost uptick is like a buddy moving 50mi out from me. The question capsuleers will have to ask themselves is this: If your friend moving an hour away kills your friendship, how much were you ever going to add to your best friend’s life?

CCP are people. We are people. We make mistakes, we do things sometimes we know are wrong. We speak out of turn and at times, put our interests before others we claim to care about. CCP are just like us. As a deeply flawed, mentally-off, resentful, and foolish clown, I would still, at my own expense suggest most who hate the $5 sub bump are no in a place to swing the dick of self-righteous anger to and fro. Though indeed, it sucks.

But many here are wrong-- it absolutely can be reversed to $15…assuming you can offer proof of concept for a model that works as well or better. Don’t forget-- CCP are now owned by shareholders, who don’t give a ā– ā– ā– ā–  about anything but the next quarterly report for revenue. If the game sucks or gets better, these types are only trying to pad a portfolio and enjoy a return on investment. If more subscribers had the wherewithal to be stockholders, they wouldn’t have the issues they now have. But they wanted the sweetest dreams for the lowest cost, and then had a proper fit when they got artery rot from bad quality dope. I’m not a stockholder myself, but I have perspective enough to identify cause and effect.

If you want to unsub over this, that’s your call. Maybe I’m a cuck for staying. But EVE is special. They can and will lose me if the cost continues even higher for subbing. Not because I’m mad (though I will be and already am), but because it outpaces my balding gaming budget. You can’t hate something if it doesn’t inspire passion in you, so for the people who are hateful, I would stress they find an alternative that strokes stockholders equally and spam their CSMs with these solutions. CCP’s new masters don’t care where the profit came from. Find them some.

Surprised that such an intelligent , well educated person like yourself is in such a situation IRL.

As a self confessed carebear, are you not able to pay for your subs via ingame earnings?

What I dont buy is;

If you suck at your own life economics, how that same person can be a whiz at them in EvE.

The point here is simply that also CCP is not living in a bubble and they are affected by inflation too.

So at the end they have only two bad choices:
A) raise the price to compensate the inflation
B) stay with the price but at some point going at risk to be not able to pay their bills and finally at some point go bankrupt and this stop EVE entirely.

I definitely prefer them going for A. Especially as with the possibility to change ISK for playtime and Alfa accounts also people without money can continue playing the game.
