I will try to keep this short since I am currently working… and I’m sure many others are voicing a lot more laid out thoughts. (edit: I didn’t keep it short).
But, I have always been a supporter for paying to play this game. Trying to encourage people to pay for their account(s) if they can afford it. Attempting to PLEX your accounts to avoid paying for a hobby is not something I like to do - it burns me out and I start to dislike the game. I can do the conversions on how long it will take to PLEX and grind hard, but I’ve always been… I’d rather have the ISK to use in game rather than buying PLEX.
It’s also a… I like supporting CCP to fuel my hobby that consumes the majority of my gameplay and freetime.
A price increase like this makes sense to me when it’s geared for a game where people only have one subbing account. But, CCP has definitely been encouraging people to make alts and branch further. For me, that has become 9 actively paying Omega accounts. A change like this either makes me want to quit or grind harder to give CCP less money. Which in USD has been 3 month subscriptions at $1,398.60 USD per year. To continue this, it now becomes $1,726.92 USD per year.
To save $50 per year from the current pay cycles I have, I have to convert everything to yearly subscriptions. Obviously even more with doing… TWO year subscriptions, which is outrageous in my honest opinion. There is a counter that I could still be playing this game in two years… which is an immediate $2,438.64 USD investment.
I don’t know. I’ve had many friends quitting this game and many going to PLEX only playstyles to prevent spending money over the years. I can’t say if this will be the trigger to finally make me one of those people ‘that complain in changes and threaten to quit’ but having a $328.32 increase per year or being forced to sub for a full year or two years is kind of that breaking point for me. I’m sorry.
TLDR: I guess I am one of those pay to play whales that subscribe with 9 accounts and I have to sit down and think heavily if I want to…
protest this by unsubbing and grind harder to PLEX all accounts.
take the price increase with hope that CCP improves many aspects of the game (instead of honestly making life harder in many ways and removing content from the game - I am not mentioning PvP content in this, more of the other stuff we all do as well),
invest into the game for longer periods of time, hoping the game goes in a positive direction (see above).
just did it - cancelled 4 alt account subscriptions, left my main on but main account is paid for a year in advance (tho it will probably get unsubbed too). there’s a polish saying ‘chytry dwa razy traci’ which roughly translates to ‘greedy, looses twofold’
Oh god, no. I don’t want politicians designing my computer systems, and I don’t want people who haven’t built up the specialized body of skills and knowledge to be competent at evaluating issues in depth and anticipating the consquences of their actions to be in charge of keeping society running.
Which, you know, is my objection to about 80% of current politicians, too. But that’s a question of getting smarter, more attentive voters, so we’re pretty screwed no matter what.
Again: This ain’t PA. The CCP CEO who penned ‘Greed is good’ is still the CCP CEO. Don’t ever think he needs Seoul to tell him to squeeze blood from a stone.
“Respected Capsuleers” LOL yeah we respect you. So were going to make our game cost more than ANY other MMO and provide no new content. Oh also caps still cost 4b a hull. Kekw
Thankfully for slow-mo I have been able to review all the posts up until this point and removed a number of inappropriate, political discussion and off-topic/spam posts.
@Ploing@Phoenix_Jr Which ones have they deleted? Do you have specific examples, or are you just seeing the counter on the right drop a bit?
ISD moderation tends to remove posts that go off-topic or into personal sniping. They’re generally pretty good about a minimalist approach, but mistakes do happen. If something you’ve said that was on-topic appears to have been deleted, raise hell and start @'ing CCP community folks.
Oh, we definitely don’t need that. What we want is almost never what we need, and machines are programmed by people. Do you trust them to not screw it up? Do you trust them enough to make it something we can’t undo without potentially having to wade through a damned Skynet scenario?
Again, though, it’s a question of what they’re deleting. Legit moderation does happen, you know.
Here whot ccp silenty forgot since the first introduction of triglavian ( or ruined )
They silenty buff the enemy inside trig abyssal
Add new enemy that kill you in few seconds if you get a bad rooms ( edencom battleship especialy )
Remove the old way to duels in the abyssal, instead we got the limited one with random buff/debuff
Pochven, the last good addition, have still bugs from day one ( triglavian will still shoot you, even if they are blue, same thing with edencom; edencom npc will also shoot other endencom npc, same thing with triglavian npc shooting other triglavian npc )
The pve site in pochven absoluty sucks, the only worth one is the drones one and mining mercoxit
They almost didn’t fix the exploit of the obs where you put a can at 10.000km, rep it and get the obs payout ( by the way, that exploit still work for the edencom obs in their fortress system )
Scarcity, by whot i keep hearing, have only been partialy reverse.
Incursion zone in high sec have been reduced
They silenty canceled project nova
But ehi, here a mobile version of eve and an increase price sub
Explanations of people why they cannot afford the new prices regarding local economy changes connected to wars etc. But they deleted them because they’re “inappopriate” or “political discussions”
