The whole thing is dirty on how they did this. Not only a price hike, they tempt people with a “30% off omega” today. AND they paid a number of NON eve streamers Wednesday, i believe, to try out EVE. They literally tried to pull in new players from these streamers and then price hike the sub right when those new players may decide to sub.

I think the increase is too much, at least for some of the items, and also too little justified in the blog post which seems so quickly and messy put together that they did not bother to give all the necessary details, like justification, prices comparison, any kind of loyalty program or rewards and foreseeable future changes.
That being said, I’m keeping my accounts subbed for now, because I can afford it via PLEX. Will see what comes next.

In a time when people are struggling to feed their families and pay bills. Eve is a all-time low for providing a decent game, CCP has decided to increase the price of plex and subscriptions. It’s demonstrates exactly how out of touch CCP is with their clients. I have already un-subbed 2 of my 3 accounts. I will be strongly contemplating un-subbing my final account. CCP has demonstrated that they are interested in making EVE a pay to win platform and they no longer care anything about the players except extracting cash from your wallet.

Yeah, so am I, dumbass. That doesn’t mean you’re gonna get anywhere screaming about free speech on a privately-owned computer system, and going about it in a way that pretty much guarantees your efforts will just end up crapping all over themselves.

First off i am not an omega player (yet), but i will try to find a way to make ingame plexing work … :).
Why the hell are you all crying about this “3x% increase”? Why are you threatening to quit (same as when CCP annouced they are selling SP imo)? And then 99% of the players who threw a tantrum ingame and in the forums wil just pay and play on. As to the players with more than one account, i never saw anyone being forced to pay a single dollar for EVE. If you aren’t willing to pay for the game just don’t and stop crying.
Have you ever thought about the side off CCPs employeed that want to be paid or the costs for energy?. CCP has to make ends meet like any other business in the world.
Sure you can go ahead and just say they earn a shitload of money with “microtransactions” and existing subs but i need hard numbers to say the new price is “too high”.
Saying that you do not receive new content is plain wrong (afaik Povchen was new content) just because you don’t play it doesn’t mean it isn’t there.
One of the biggest (most known) mmos on the market simply released earlier versions of their product and have been hyped through the roof for their ingenuity, and there you pay a sub for 17 year old content … don’t get me wrong a price increase is always something to look at, but as it seems to be the first amendment since 2004 for the 1 month sub at least, i say let em have the money and just enjoy the game!
