Their income has also gone up because of monetizing the sht out the game, PLEX/ISK, Skillinjectors, Skins, entire ships lately, etc.

Iāve been playing well over 2 years, and because of my financial situation Iāve got no IRL cash to spend on this game. That having been said, for almost the entirety of that time Iāve managed to earn enough isk to plex my way into omega status. To say that the scarcity period, which if weāre being honest is still very much in effect despite CCPās claim to the otherwise, has been an unfun period of time to go through is a massive understatement; but I went though it all the same because I assumed the devs such as @CCP_Swift would come to their senses and make earning your way more comfortable, so that people like me werenāt essentially forced to live paycheck to paycheck.
As it stands now, Iām barely squeaking by with enough isk to buy what I need; any notion of non-essentials or things that arenāt directly going into earning isk are pipe dreams. If the price of plex on the market grows significantly higher, which it almost certainly will with this announcement and the patch to change prices, my ability to remain omega will come into question, and if Iām unable to maintain it, there really doesnāt seem to be a point in continuing to play the gameā¦ and by the looks of the comments, Iād be far from alone in this regard.
At that point, the only way Iād be willing to come back is if there was significant changes to bring us well and truly out of scarcity, and Iād be relying on the communityās opinion on this, and not any statements from CCP itself, since theyāve proven themselves unwilling to listen to CSM or the players, and almost seem contemptuous of them, it seems.
I DO enjoy playing the game, and I do enjoy the people Iāve met and helped along the way, but when a game becomes a job in the levels of tedium you have to endure to pay the bills, there are other distractions I can concern myself with.

It grew the game pretty damned well from 2003 to 2014 or so. Then there were changes at CCP, years before that 2017 join date, that set us down this path.

^^^^^ This right here. I could even afford the lump sum for 6 months, or however long, to keep my monthly price about where it is. The point is Iām not going to. Not without something far more substantial than āWaIt TiLl FaNfEsT!ā CCP has burned all trust and credibility that they ever had, so without something substantive and up frontā¦forget it. Iām happy being Alpha and logging in occasionally until I SEE something that makes it worth my while again, not vague, hollow, worthless promises.

Do they actually do that? Because i am now realizing coming back after a few years hiatus has been a mistake and a colossal waste of money.
UK Sub for eve is Ā£11.99 a month
UK Sub for wow is Ā£9.99 a month
So eve and wow currently cost around Ā£144/Ā£125 a year (Ā£50 wow expansion every two years).
I am guessing new eve UK price will be Ā£15.99 = Ā£192, if they decided to just match the numbers it would be Ā£240 a year.
Yes itās less if you can afford to pay for it up front for the whole year but if you are paying monthly, itās one hell of a jump.
At the same time as all our food and energy bills are going up as well. When people look at a budget for things to cut, online subs are generally top of that list.
I might come back once the war, cost of living and energy issues are dealt withā¦if eve is still a thing a that point.

So complaining about game price raise in a situation where most ppl are now strugling for bread and gaz is behing toxic . By raising the price you deprive most Eve players of the only time they can escape and have fun. So in your mind if you are not wealthy you can just go for a shity job and shut your mouth, head down and say thank you? What a pitty to think this way. Weāll see when money wll be worth nothing, maybe youāll be the first strugling and having a real bad time

As I understand it some of this new content has not even been made yet, they need the money from raised subs to start making it. It was let slip in the Soundcloud that CCP did, they think we will continue to pay while they ā ā ā ā about producing ā ā ā ā for us again. Mark these words well!
