Thatās great and all, but did you catch how he responded when someone said āhey, listen, I run a bunch of accounts and literally cannot afford this increaseā? It was ājust wait until Fanfest, itāll be worth itā.
And honestly, telling someone that whateverās getting announced at FF will be so amazingly cool that it will literally change their financial situation? Thatās pretty damned tone deaf, especially when that same person is acknowledging āyes, the optics on this were horribleā.

No matter what they announce at fanfest, it will not make our wallet bigger so we can nor want to pay more. You want people with 10+ alts pay $270 on each in one go? Then be stuck in the game where you make the game worse every three months with new nerfs?
Iām not going to rage-quit, but iām not going to be sitting on all my alts. Tho, iām not sure iād like to play with only one or to accounts. Itās not fun for altaholics. (If you rage-quit, send me all your stuff, hf!)
If the price for montly sub was 20 $ when I started to play as omega, I wouldnāt have done this. Think about it CCP!
Iāll cancel the sub for my alt and will PLEX my main with ISK. So, what your added value CCP?

Itās better buying 50 PLEX ten times rather than 500 PLEX once as long as you have a payment method with zero transaction fee. Do the math, CCP.
My feeling is it would have been more forthright, and more informative, if CCP had posted columns with the old prices next to the new ones for easy comparison, including columns for percentage increases.
The monetization systems of EVE are already designed to extract the max a player is willing to spend on the game. Alt accounts, plex, p2wā¦
This price hike is misguided because it will likely not result in increased profit for CCP/PA. Most players that donāt leave will adjust their spending habits on the game to maintain consistent cost.

Is it worth doing ten transactions to save 9 cents? At 1000 PLEX and up the discount kicks in. Check out the savings for 20000 PLEXā¦ $1.63 per 50 PLEX. Only $649.99 to get that savings.

This seems to have had a weird side effect. Iāve seen people saying things like āThey are raising the price for subs because too many people use ISK to buy PLEX for Omega and they arenāt making any money!!1!!1oneone!!elevenā
Just to clarify: PLEX are bought with REAL LIFE MONEY and then sold in game for isk. This is functionally equivalent to someone paying REAL LIFE MONEY for someone elseās account sub and then taking payment from them in the form of isk. To say people using PLEX to Omega is robbing CCP of REAL LIFE MONEY is patently wrong! Iām not even sure how this can be misunderstood butā¦ wellā¦ there ya go.

While not effective itās feasible at least. Considering Jita market prices before the price change restriction kicked in, someone will glad to exploit to cut off this tiny bit of cost.

I loved production and mining.
Had my Orca and my 2 alts with barges, and combined it with some Research and Productionā¦
never had a big income but had fun.
Got told paying 45 ech month to keep that up is just stupidā¦ but well was worth it for meā¦
than scarcity, than industry changes than this than thatā¦ etc.
mining income in HS is like 10-15m for an hour even with max orca boost (per char).
Productionā¦ well ore is worth less (good for production in that way) but ships went down even moreā¦ soā¦ near to no profitā¦ or even losses soā¦
than getting charged even more for the mess you caused over the last years?
Like burning your Office and asking for a raise right after it with just the promise to make it better next time?

The prices havenāt changed yet, so one can compare the blog post to the store - though, this is far easier to do for subs than PLEX.

With PLEX, the amounts only match at 500 (440/60). At that amount, itās 125.0%.
One can go further with this and subs, mind you. 2x12 months is $262.80 while 24 months *will be" $270.99 or 103.1%.
PLEX is just convoluted because of the different amounts and various discounts. Though, one can look at spending now $249.99 for 7430 PLEX vs spending later $239.99 for 6000 PLEX. 96% the cost for 80.8% the PLEX. Hrmm, that has me curious about the current 15400/$499.99 vs future 20000/$649.99. 130% the PLEX for 130% the cost. Technically, itās 129.87% the PLEX for 130.00% the cost. Yeah, PLEX is just a mess with the current schemes versus the coming schemes.
