[Discussion] PLEX and Omega price changes feedback thread

I wouldn’t listen to Ran he seems kinda slow, in the department of understanding

More dishonesty, as you were the one who brought ‘winning’ into this. What’s important to me is accurate, truthful assessment of the situation. Which is why when you kept making false statements, like insisting CCP had no financial backing despite almost $100M in outside investment from VCs and private equity firms in the 2014-2016 window, or your implication that SSG is owned by a ‘massive multinational’, I simply provided accurate facts.

From what I read here, many of the complaints are about those having many accounts.

You will just have to use less accounts and do with less.

Welcome to readjusting your life to the economic times. Perhaps pick your leaders (rulers) better.

You can’t have everything you want all the time.

If you run a business yourself or work for yourself, up your prices too. You’re going to have to.

It’s clear to me that I won’t play and pay for EvE again until the news of Fanfest blows my mind.
Furthermore, I will not fall for the marketing strategy that currently a monthly subscription cost 10.47€. This is expected to cut losses and get people to grab as many months for that price as they can before the price hike comes.
It’s tempting, but I’ll wait.

I’m not the type who likes to buy a pig in a poke, even if it’s offered a little cheaper. I prefer to know what I’m paying for, even if it’s a little more. If it’s worth it, I’ll pay for it. Let’s see what Fanfest brings…
Of course, with this marketing strategy, CCP really raised expectations. let’s see if the management calculated it correctly.

If the entirety of this thread doesn’t get pruned within 24 hours you may color me surprised.

Consider me colored.

Here is your solution, buy 24 months instead of 1 month.

Whelp…

You asked for feedback.

I love the EVE universe. I have the original boxed retail game, the entire EON magazine run and a bunch of the swag. I love the concept of EVE, even though I can’t dedicate the time to actually play the game. So I pay for the 6 subscriptions and log in daily to collect the bonuses.

As a US based player, I get hit with a foreign transaction fee when I buy something from y’all. So that was already a bit of a kick in the nuts.

Now, to have you toss in a 33% price increase for a game that I rarely play…?

You might want to be a bit careful. Sure. Another $30ish a month isn’t a huge leap. That is just a fast food dinner for the kiddo and myself. But then you go “Hmmm… $120 is my entire Patreon roster AND the aforementioned dinner for the kiddo and I.” and you start questioning how much one loves EVE, especially when I could drop everything to Alpha and get the same gameplay experience that I currently have.

At the end of the day, Y’all need to realize that the #1 bit of content that CCP can make is PLAYERS. If it doesn’t drive up player counts, then EVE will die and it is really hard to see how making EVE more expensive will add to those counts.

That’s your personal bank arrangements, get a currency account for international use.

Perhaps use Bitcoin too.

20 makes you the most expensive subscription mmo out there, and you have people running multiple accounts. Not to mention people are already struggling massively with money due to the inflation, and you’ve decided to add on to that pile. Good job.

I also don’t understand it. I’m a player with just a single account and have no intention of changing that. I’ll probably keep my subscription because I want to keep flying my new and fancy ships, but how will the extra 33% on remaining subs cover all the unsubbing alts, cause that’ll be a much larger drop in income. Did you think this through?

Yep, if you and your 20 alts want to just pay a bit more than now, just pay 5400$ its just that easy.
Paying every month a fair price isnt a god given right for the lower class!

:apple: :green_apple: :heavy_heart_exclamation:

and yes a bit trolly, i did read to much here the last day…

That’s a choice by the player.

Buy 24 months and get discount.

Well yeah, but im trying to understand their logics at this.

Rich players problems. I can make do with one account and character and still have fun…

i hope after this everyone thinks like that.
i can live with a playercount of 5k (assumeing the 3-5 alts for each real player is a at least kinda average if i take my corp as average) and ccp sure like that too

P.S.: and i know dont gonna happen, couse enought ppl dont care about money at all
But would really like the idea to get shot by 20 ppl instead of one guy with his own fleet…

You can’t charge a premium price for a subscription and have dumb crossover events for other products.

It’d be like paying for Netflix … and still getting advertisements.

At the end of the day its about the value the increased subscription gets the player … at the moment the proposition is basically … pay more - get same .

Its no wonder people are annoyed.

What is the % increase on the 24 month subscription?

Don’t know off the top of my head … but in order to convince someone to pay 2 years worth of (discounted) subscription fees in advance CCP still needs to convince them of the value.

They got a new UI and new hardware to boost performance. Worth a few %.

2,65% . if you want to pay your rent 2 years in advance.

or 13,6% on the year when paying yearly. (source a spreadsheet i did see in a video, didnt calculatet or confirmed the math are right)

It’ll depend on the customer … personally I don’t think stuff that is under the hood (like new hardware is) will convince many people.
