I love democracy
I have seen it, and its a bit puzzling, but only in the sense that they were potentially hiding all of it. As if it would matter so much. If they could not reverse engineer it, and I think they couldnt do that, then what is there to see as an impact? Fear? I can live perfectly fine with extraterrestials visiting us sometimes. As long as they dont interfere too much and dont want anything from us.
If they could ever see this thread, I have a message:
Welcome to earth, and now please leave us alone, as we have enough problems already with some “intelligent” non-extraterrestials. Giving humanity more power when we cant even solve simple problems because of our still animalistic behavior, would be quite irresponsible, like giving loaded gun to a monkey.
Or, if those are the timetravelers from our past, and the travel to future is possible from physics perspective, then the same. Better just go on with traveling.

So now you’re an expert on E.T. made rivets, Altara? How would you tell it apart from its Earth counterparts? Would that technology satisfy your “hunger for evidence” once and for all? Even if they present it to you, you’d say “How do we know it is not high-tech lab made alloy or 3D printed in an advanced way”?

That article link I posted about the rock containing all of the DNA and RNA needed for life to exist on Earth is all the evidence that is needed to base a foundation for the continued search for life in the Universe.
A search that will require humanity to build stations on Mars and in the asteroid rings around the gas giants.
The farther away from Earth, the more virgin and clean the radio signal or whatever signal the aliens are using will be. In turn, human based signals will also be more virgin and clean…

Lots of other variables need to occur to support life, what you’re presenting is just proof that there is dna and rna in rocks.

Nope, it’s 100% proof that there’s chemistry active somewhere. Not THAT dramatic a finding since the discovery of nitrile radicals in gas and dust spectra.

It is simple chemistry. You need simple chemicals like carbon monoxide, Sodium hydroxide, Methanol, Ammonia, etc. Also physical things like heat, pressure, optionally UV light.
Bases are simple chemicals and it would be strange if they would not be present everywhere in universe where the proper components are found. But bases are not dna, bases are bases. Bases are present primarily in environment where no dna is present. From forming bases to forming simple life is a long way, we know its at least millions of years undirected reactions in the cauldron of a solar system environment. But of course life can appear. Basic life at least.
Presence of base is not proof that the simple life formed. And how to find proof? Its pretty hard as simple life is simply not very stable chemically. It will desitegrate fast to simple chemicals. DNA and RNA structure desintegrates if too much heat or uv is present, also oxidation plays big role in destruction of DNA, RNA chains. The genetic memory fading fast even in living organism as they live. We would need some very stable environment protecting dna from being desintegrated, but it doesnt seem to happen naturally.
To be 100% sure that the simple life formed, to have proof it is there, we have to find that simple life. Bases are not simple life as we know it by definition.
Simply said, if bases are like stones, dna is those stones laying in formation of a specific canyon. We dont see those canyons elsewhere in universe. We are sure only on earth was proper environment for formation of them.
For other environments we have to search, but probability is very small we will find simple life if environment isnt there already to support its existence in the moment we stumble upon it.
Or we could find mineralized patterns of past life. But for that microbial mats are needed and it means worlds that have or had water (or some kind of other liquid ocean where life could have settled and was present for a long time), without overwhelming tectonic or other activity that could melt or shatter, or grind down the patterns.

You seriously haven’t a clue. The difference between amino acids and even the simplest RNA, let alone cells with complex protein folding structures is HUGE. The average cell has over 100 trillion atoms in it…compared with the average amino acid containing just 20 atoms ! There’s more atoms in a cell than there are galaxies in the entire universe.
I forgot to add that we dont have to search for extraterrestial life if it comes to us on spaceships in a form of some strange creatures piloting them.
