Do I need to reinstall?

I play 2-3 times each week. But everytime I start the client it starts and completes a 160Mb+ download. Any fix to this? Or are there 2-4 updates to the client each week?

Thanks for any help!

The client downloads that 160+ MB “update” almost every single day. And yes, it’s rather annoying…

And you can’t get an answer out of anyone as to what it’s for…

Even if it downloaded that only half the days of the month, that is 2.5 GB of “updates” for which there is absolutely no documentation…

That has nothing to do with “playing online” or with unused files or anything on our computers. This is a new behavior and CCP just refuses to tell in the patch notes what they are downloading.

I never heard of reinstalling actually helped anyone.

Over the course of a year, that is 28 GB worth of “updates”, almost as large as the entire game installation, which is utterly ridiculous…

We’ve asked many times, both on this forum and on Reddit, with no reply whatsoever…

You’d think it would be fairly easy to answer. What, exactly, has to be updated almost every single day, and with such a specific amount of data? It is exactly 162.3 MB almost every time.

Huh. It’s probably the original game from 2003, underpinning every daily change and feature addition since.

You sure it is a dowload or a regular upload to see what you been upto?

I don’t know if it is my broadband or my physical location in the world, but I seem to be done on these in mere seconds. Black Desert updates every Wednesday for 4 hours server downtime and take a lot longer to process. The only reason I point out Black Desert is the obvious relation to this game. Eve Online is only down for 10 to 15 minutes each day ( not even 2 hours total for the week ) which I assume is the better method.

If I were to look at this as house cleaning, it is more prudent to clean up each day than once a week. You have more mess and it takes longer. The only other way I could see this improved upon, would be, closing off one room at a time for cleaning and moving to the next. This would require no downtime at all, just certain rooms would be unavailable for a minute or two per day/week.

Have fun!
