The phrase jump the shark was taken from an incident in an episode of Happy Dayswritten by Fred Fox, Jr., which aired on September 20, 1977. In the episode, the central characters visit Los Angeles, where a water-skiing answers a challenge to his bravery by wearing swim trunks and his trademark leather jacket, and jumping over a confined shark. The stunt was created as a way to showcase Winkler’s real-life waterskiing skills.
Journalist Joel Draba-Mann suggests that "Happy Days soldiered on for another seven years after the stunt. The scene meanwhile, became the prime example of a once-loved TV show losing touch with its original appeal“

Literally the other day I was watching through ‘The Expanse’ again and re-recognizing all of the clear and obvious connections in it to Eve Online. I have no doubt that the model/set/costume design teams have long-time Eve players on them. Tell me the Beratnas Gas logo isn’t a homage to the Eve Online logo…
I said to myself 'Eve should totally do some sort of crossover with ‘The Expanse’…
Then… this… It’s like taking ‘Schindler’s List’ and making a director’s cut version with SpongeBob and the Island Boys…
Very lowbrow move, CCP. Used to be proud to be part of Eve because of what was a pretty high bar for intellect and fortitude… Now it’s becoming Fortnite.

Not going to lie here, I am not liking where this is heading with franchise crossovers. Eve makes its own Lore and stories and should be proud to stand alone. Have you, at CCP, ran out of all other ideas and all game mechanics and issues are fully resolved; and the game is working as intended and that’s why you have time to go off at a tangent?
