I think the drifters use corpses to clone themselves. hence why they were collecting corpses - clone corpses - and why there is now so many of them. they even look like corpses strapped with cybernetics.
If this is the case. maybe the drifter assault will lessen once we’ve depleted their corpse stock.

No one wants clone offspring with no SP.
Im sure they could sell a drifter battleship for 300 billion isk on the market and buy a bunch of skill injectors.
