what the hell is up with insane drone aggro! why is it still here? i came back after a few years only to find drone aggro to still be completely broken!!! even in a Vargur where i am clearly a much higher threat then some warrior’s they pull all aggro them moment they are launched may as well rename all drones to emergency bait its all there good for.
(yes i have tried ejecting and re-boarding my ship it does nothing)
Some types of NPCs are much more agressive against drones than others.
Adjust your strategy if that happens! There are many non-drone options, and drones are still really strong whenever you can use them.
its every NPC even belt rats, if i am lucy i can land a few hits with drones then aggro shifts 90% of the time aggro shifts the moment they leave the drone bay.
A while ago CCP changed NPC actions according to hull class… Basically NPC’s will target the same hull class and above…
Meaning small hull class NPC’s will target Light Drones and above… Medium hull class NPC’s will target Medium Drones and above, Large hull class NPC’s will target Heavy Drones and above…
So for the most part that’s pretty much how they act… Course depending on the situation, there are exceptions to that rule…
When in combat sites, I’ll use main weapons to first clear out the small hull class NPC’s, then launch my Light Drones and start working on the Medium and Large hull class NPC’s… I rarely ever see any aggro on my Drones.. If they do start taking aggro, I recall them and wait a little bit until my ship has full aggro again, then I’ll relaunch Drones and continue working on the NPC’s…
Anyway, by using that tactic, I’ve hardly ever lost a Drone and I seldom ever have to repair them…
are you unable to read “ALL” NPCs attack my drone’s a damn carrier rat will attack my light drone’s. even in a Vargur where i am pumping out over 20x the DPS of my drone’s they still take “ALL” the aggro. today the longest my drones have gone with out aggro was 2 mins then “ALL” the NPCs are attacking them even groups i haven’t even aggroed yet.
Yeah I can read, can you?
I was talking about my own experience…
