Oh, wow.
Yeah, definitely not my proudest moment.
PM me on Discord… we need to talk… and it’s not EVE related
Can we like, not talk about it? I’ve been hitting the rattlesnake powder pretty hard, sure, but I’ve been following the rules otherwise, and feel like I deserve a break…
You know how to reach me
This may have already been covered but generally you do not want your ancillaries to auto-reload. It takes a minute, which is often longer than the duration of a frigate brawl. During that minute the module is useless.
Better to have the reduced heal than no heal in most cases.
If you take the ancillary off auto cycle and off auto reload and just use it when you really need it the “ammo” should last the fight and if now you still have the reduced effectiveness which is better than nothing.
Not sure if you meant “autoreload” or “autorepeat”. When it comes to ancillary armor repairers and ancillary shield boosters, autoreload is almost always acceptable, but autorepeat is almost always a horrible idea.
You’re ready for pvp bro, keep at it. Go to zkillboard and look at other PVP’rs fits and what they are killing with them.
I may be remembering incorrectly, but it seems to me that about a couple months ago there was a similar thread about somebody trying a PvP run and getting nuked by a Heron?
So don’t feel too suckered, it happen, it’s a learning experience, you even turned it into a learning experience for other people as well with this thread. As long as you can afford the loss, all’s good.
At any rate, good thread, good try, and just a reminder of the rock-paper-scissors nature of EVE PvP.
(PS: There’ll probably be a half-dozen guys out trying ‘Astero-baiting’ fits for the next week or two, so best be ready for that.)
Also @Path_Starbreaker if your on grid with a heron again and cloaked up, look at their ship, you can see gun and missile modules on the hull, if you see them you know its armed and ready to fight, if you see none its most likely not ready for fighting.
Thanks for the tips. Woke up and feel optimistic. I lost a lot of isk but I learned so much from that loss. Thinking about practicing in a high sec combat site with drone hot keys to pull them back before they die and managing cap correctly.
If you had won, you’d be writing the opposite …
… which means that your conclusion is nonsense.
It would be nonsense either way. Encouraged by a win, discouraged by a loss,
without actually having enough data for a proper conclusion.
Grow smarter instead of tucking your tail in.
Go try again.
PS: Ive only read the first post.
Watch out for Herons…
I went after one at a Data site in our wormhole. Turned out all he had fitted was Scram, Web and tank. The Sabre that then decloaked, however, was another matter…
I can’t stand using those hot keys. You need to have your focus in the proper place, and not like a chat window or something. What we need is on-screen UI buttons for drone control.
Found your issue there, chief.
Just go play Faction Wars in frigates for half a year and you’ll learn all the lessons cheap. I went there immediately after completing the tutorials and I did perfectly fine. Finding people who are willing to share their knowledge also helps. Gives you new ideas you can experience. I’d be there doing smallgang or solo stuff if I didn’t desire to help the highsec people with their trig problem.
That’s not a very useful PvP module.
You are truly one of the most helpful personalities in the EVE-O forum. What a champ.
Of course!
I wish you sold other types of permits for those of us who don’t mine…
What a razor sharp wit you have.
