ECM sentry turrets

It’s high security, not perfect security. And if you fit your ship with mods that reduce its tank and nothing else then yes you absolutely deserve to lose it.

Ideally High security means there are still rats in belts and also there are mission rats. Ideally It doesent mean you will be ganked by players if your ship and fit is expensive and your EHP is low. Players should be able to fly what they want in high sec.

So when should you be ganked by players?

Never

Then you are playing the wrong game. CCP has stated time and time again that reward must be balanced with commensurate risk. This includes highsec. If you hate the founding principle of eve so much, why stay and try to force the round hole to become square when you can just find a hole that’s already round?

I am playing rich.up now. When you find a good lobby its a great time. And my win rate is over 50%.

reward must be balanced with commensurate risk.

The more expensive ship and fit you got and the more stuff you have in your cargohold the higher the chance you get get ganked. So the risk vs reward is inverse in this case.

The simple fix to that is to accept a lower reward (taking longer to move the same load in multiple trips, using cheaper fittings at the cost of isk/hour) to lower your risk.

This puts a lid on progression and defeats the purpose of playing the game for most people in the first place

The only circumstance where fitting cargo expanders to an Orca makes any sense is if you’re taking a Fortizar into a C2,3 or 4 wormhole.
The comprehensive lack of mid and high slots in that orca raises questions about what the hell they thought they were doing.
Had they been paying any attention to their surrounds, they could have avoided the ganks. Clearly, they failed at that basic task.

It is high security.
Taking unsanctioned aggressive action invokes the wrath of CONCORD. That’s the ‘high’ part of ‘high security’. Note that CONCORD is retribution, not perfect prevention.
The only place in the game where you are 100% safe and protected is when docked up in an npc station. I suggest you get used to the idea.

This Orca used the midslots to no avail (Also from today)

But this one was likely in an Ice Belt and a ECM Sentry would not have made a difference (Assuming they only exist near hi-sec Gates and Stations which i think should be the case im out)

A medium shield booster? Fine against rats, not against any vaguely competent gank attempt.

Cargo rigs that nerf armour? Cargo lows?

That’s a fail fit orca.

It doesn’t. It means you move and fly differently when what you use and play with is more expensive, and act in a manner which is aware of the various risks.

so useless for HS, thats what i thought westboi…stfu and go learn game mechanics like i told ya to do b4.

Wow he bagged like a dozen people with this one.

The point of flying something expensive in high sec in most cases is that it makes your life easier. But in high sec flying an expensive ship and fit makes your life harder because you become a target for gankers.

This defeats the purpose of progressing and playing the game in the first place for a lot of people.

Another way to put it is In low and null sec the rules are the same no matter how expensive your ship is. But if you fly something expensive or have valuable cargo in high sec the rules change and you have to deal with ganking now. Words cant really describe the idiocy in that. But i tried and also suggested potential solutions. Have a nice day.

Oh ffs.
Your refusal to accept the simple premise that eve has no safe spaces is 100% on you.
There are numerous ways to avoid being ganked, yet you continue to argue that hisec should be 100% safe regardless how stupid a player is.
Give it up. EVE is not safe. It never has been. It never should be.
If you want a safe space, find another game.

Lets change the color of high sec systems to yellow then?

Whut?
I’m in favour of keeping EVE dangerous.
I had an alt lose a Virtue pod to npcs in pochven recently.
I knew i should fix their standings. I didn’t take the time to do that. I warped to a poco. Got caught in a bubble someone had anchored. Got blapped.
Am i blaming game mechanics? Am i screaming for ccp to change something?
No. In accepting the loss as my own fault. My stupidity for not taking the time to fix their standings.
That ISK2B loss is 100% on me. Just the same as every gank victim is 100% on those who lost their ship.
Avoiding ganks is easy. Just as avoiding being blapped by triglavian npcs is easy: take proactive steps to avoid it, and it’s not a problem.

Changing the color of high systems to yellow makes sense since other players will kill you if you fly in something expensive

Bring back the spectrum breaker.
