Any news about a update to EFT, what’s the main issue, the lack of source code?
Even without source code people have been able to use hacky ways to update it, so is it still possible or Eve changed and added so much stuff that’s not possible anymore?
Used to love to work on fits, tweak existing one, but with pyfa i can’t do it, i hate it.
I believe that the situation is that the original developer quit Eve several years ago and did not release the source code.
@Peter_Han tried to keep the last version going by updating the data files (ship stats) for a while. The issue is that several game mechanics have been changed (command bursts for example) and I don’t believe these can be implmented in just the data files the core application would have to be updated which is not possible without the source code.
Like @Sir_Constantin I can’t seem to get along with Pyfa but that is what we have now.
