Encounter Surveillance System Update

It is about small gangs and this change is garbage, talking about total ESS+DBS change.

They mess up WH Space even worst slashed all the values for Blue Loot on a whim making all sub 5 wormholes worthless.

Thanks Black Pedro,

that was an exceptionally rational and well written post, rare sight in this thread!

Winners see opportunities in every change, losers fail to adapt. Caravan marches on.

True, but

they want to force that on me ON TOP of paying for subscription, so I’m paying AND being the service at the same time.

Pick one, CCP, pick one.

Imagine a change where your gravy is replaced with ■■■■.
Show me the opportunities and adaption options, please.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.

Even c3 got better isk per anomaly than null, not sure what are you talking about.

Imagine not understanding that your bounties are going to increase

c3 anomalies shoot back however, tackle you, you got no local, and they’re in limited supply. They hardly compare to SOV anoms’ “goddamnit forgot to drop drones before making breakfast again”

Imagine failing to read so horribly that you don’t even understand there’s no way of that happening.

Completely agree and this is why I dislike the ESS/DBS changes, it could kick away the catch up mechanic for the little guy. I can see alliances only permitting their vets to rat in their supers so newer players don’t ruin “their” ratting index.

I went back and forth with @Arrendis on this and conede that Goons culture would never permit such behaviour which is awesome tbh as it’s rife in Pandemic Horde who ESI gate off parts of their space for vets

I personally “caught up” having come to the game off the back of the BR5 press hype, I wanted to to be a titan pilot in a massive battle, spent 5 years getting there. I could only reach a point where I could fly a titan off the back of subbing 4 accounts and grinding like a mad man.

There’s no bridge for someone to reach that goal now if these changes are as drastic as people are predicting
Although we have no idea on the numbers and the CCP stream was reassuring that someone running multiple accounts for 3 hours ratting shouldn’t be impacted, which would allay my concerns, provided super ratters don’t trash the ratting index for everyone.

This is probably better placed in the DBS thread on reflection!

This is what I’m talking about. Not learning the lessons of the past.

People were sure blackout was going to be great. There was this crazy belief that ratters and miners in null would continue the same behavior in null just without local so there would be sooooo much “game” for the hunters.

They found out that, with the exception of botters, almost no one is stupid enough to
Rat or mone in space that has gates and allows cynos but has no local chat.

People are not going to just sit there and be stolen from everyday, nor are most going to reship and give hunters the one thing they want (hunters like a kill, but they want a FIGHT).

This series of changes is a mini blackout 2.0. There are better paths ccp could be following.

I’m just going to remind folks now that this is a prognostication from the guy who, while on the CSM, singlehandedly managed to lobby CCP into destroying his own playstyle, then complained when they did.

Nullsec spawns capital and supercapital NPCs, gl killing one in a casual praxis or raven.

Never have i ever seen pointing npc frigs (and npc caps for that matter), r-r-right.

you also can not be cyno dropped, and you also can roll almost all wormholes and krab in peace.

Finaly, the only correct statement. Well, i guess we can agree on that being a part of balance?

CCP forgot one thing- monetary income is not something that one change will increase. This is something that only improving game content and making new things could do, over time. Even cool skins would do.

However, with the ESS change, dynamic bounty system, and the mineral change, almost every industry is taking a hit.
Mining-Direct hit
Ratting-Direct hit
Mission running- indirect hit( more people run missions, decreasing mission income by farming more LP)
Exploration- indirect hit( more people go explo, decreasing explo earnings, as the number of deadspace products and hackable can products increase )
With those changes, players would leave the game, because the most prominent ways of making ISK are null mining and ratting, as we can see on the report. Without those inputs, people have a hard time living.

We should somewhat get something that repays our efforts in fighting over systems in null, and making null worthless is the last thing that a normal GM could think of.
Even Just making wars easier to happen(decreasing entosis time, etc) could be a possible solution, by increasing expenses.

Win more players, instead of extracting more money from the players, should be the focus of the game right now. There has already been a massive player loss experienced by the game, and CCP definitely does not want that to repeat
or does it?

Agreed- hire the old devs and fire the new devs.

Everything is connected, nothing is unaffected. Take an hour to consider the player flow- without Ratting in null, what would They do? missions? Exploration? Mining(which has been recently nerfed)?

What evidence do you have to support the claim that no one will rat in null due to this?

I highly doubt that this system will result in ratting in null disappearing. Even blackout did not stop ratting as players got used to it. Super carrier ratters bounced back hardest and continued making plenty of isk despite it.

Take a look at the economic report. Ratting remains a major part of the game economy.

That’s not what I asked.

I asked: What evidence do you have to support the claim that no one will rat in null due to this?
This = ESS, if that helps clarify.

Edit: nvm, i’ve gone through some of your comments and realized you’re just another whiny kid who doesn’t actually know what they’re talking about and are mad because of the potential that you might lose some isk/hr. don’t bother replying, you’ve been blocked.

First, people usually use carriers to Rat in null. This means that people have to stay under a “SuperCap/Cap protection umbrella” to prevent a hot drop, which means that everywhere inside the umbrella It’s -30%(or more) effectiveness(dynamic bounty), as most of the Ratting is in the umbrella. With another part of money deposited in the main Bank(and repository), the effectiveness of this further decreases. (100mn phantasm thief quickly gets within 25km and steals the ISK) With the current farm speed of 60m/tick(for supercarriers) and 30m/tick(for carriers), people could do Lvl 5s and lvl4s(speedrun) for more profit, and ditch their nullsec base for good. I used to do L4s and it was really safe with a MJD battleship. Only bots will remain in null.
