EVE Anywhere’s In-Browser Streaming Service to Cease Operations May 24

Well, I seem to have dodged that bullet by not buying the 3 month packs during the recent deals then. Quite sad about EVE Anywhere closing down.

That’s a shame as i used it when able to as i just got a google chromebook so would there happen to be any plans for a launcher for google chromebook?

noooo this worked so well!

… I mean, it broke for me 2 months ago and I haven’t been able to use it since then, but up until two months ago it worked so well!

This is unlikely. A Chromebook is engineered to run web based applications and sacrifices the performance one would expect of a laptop capable of running applications locally to cut costs. The reason Eve Anywhere works on a Chromebook is because the heavy lifting to make the magic happen is done on remote hardware.

Eve anywhere was accessible and a key way I interacted with Eve Online. I’ve heard from others that CCP is banning people for using GeForce Now / Shadow. You can get it reversed but that is still a hassle. I’m fine with running it on a desktop however that isn’t always an option for me and sometimes I just need to login and do a fleet on a single toon , check markets or handle admin stuff.

Eve Anywhere provided a consistent environment to login, you know you weren’t going to deal with eating a ban and it just worked and provided high quality graphics.

I would pay a monthly fee for access to the service knowing that it was supported and blessed by CCP with zero risk of eating a ban for coming from a shared ip / service.

Yes it is unlikely looks like i will on may way back to windows unless this nvidia’s geforce now is any good.

Yet.

Another.

Failed.

Project.

That.

Nobody.

Even.

Remotely.

Asked.

For.

Try https://moonlight-stream.org
I have not done it myself (no interest in streaming as carrying around 4 screens is not exactly mobile) but I have heard some very good things about it. Should beat the ■■■■ out of VNC/RDP

Wtf, I was still eagerly waiting for it to be enabled in Italy (without having to use a VPN)

Why does CCP continue to take away the good things they create and keep shoving the garbage our way?

No one wants a different launcher or the citadel hangar that eats resources. Those are what we are getting. Eve Anywhere is something people actually find useful and want to use… guess we better just throw it out. Not even try to find a way to charge for it.

Careful. You might get banned for using those services.

Unfortunate. But tbf I think this was rarely used. I personally have only used it I think twice. Look forward to the next project.

The nvidia thing is welcomed by ccp as an alternative

They even mention it in the OP as an alternative

Got any proof of this besides hearsay? Because if you do, it is a very big deal.

You say this but yet ccp says this. I think you are f.o.s.

He probably means the ‘smart’ people who use it to go around the alpha restrictions

If EVE would have had native Linux support you would have easily saved on this scenario 30% on Microsoft license costs… maybe this would make EVE anywhere feasible…

… just mentioning.

Maybe.
Western economies going through the economic wringer will inevitably squeeze the life of EVEs R&D just when innovation is required the most.

I used eve anywhere from time to time. It was very useful for checking market or doing my logistical stuffs while away from my computer. Will miss it.
In other hand, I don’t give a f*** about a new launcher… I guess it will be useful for hardcore multiboxers but for players with only one account, I don’t see what could be better. Plus I fear that it will be more ressources demanding…
