Thanks for actually breaking down my idea point by point. You’re right that the orbital speeds need adjustment - maybe 24-48 hour cycles would be more reasonable while still keeping the dynamic movement concept.
About the bookmarks - yeah, that would be a nightmare with the current system. What if the bookmark system in these systems worked differently? Instead of marking static XYZ coordinates, bookmarks could be set relative to the planets - so if you bookmark “20km above Planet X” it stays 20km above that planet as it moves. The game already tracks relationships between objects for orbiting, so this seems technically possible.
For the gravitational lanes, I was thinking about regular subwarp flight - tactical advantages during fleet fights where positioning through these lanes could give you a speed advantage. Kind of like how FCs already use tactical bookmarks, but with an added dynamic element.
Appreciate the feedback on the T3 ships too. The protocol switching mechanic seems like something that could work with refinement.
Not claiming to be a game designer here, just thought it would be cool to have some systems where New Eden feels a bit more alive and unpredictable.

Start small.
Let’s just get one or two things moving, Use the ‘Space Oddity’ model to have a comet moving through space.
Making an actual space simulator would probably fail, because a lot of us cannot do celestial mechanics in our head.

I have a hard enough times with meters. I am a retired American. Celestial Mechanics? In my head?
I would do what Sara has suggested. It does not not need to be a massive project. I would suggest that you break it down in pieces. Maybe start where Sara has suggested. See how that works. Maybe in a year or so. Perhaps CCP might take your idea seriously. It can happen.
