Eve Bots - are they a bad thing, is CCP complicit in their use?

How do you identify hauler bots?

T1 Hauler, character in NPC corp, will not response to chat requests, local call outs, duel requests, trade requests, bumping, etc.

Usually found with 10-50+ others coming and going from the same station. Warps gate to gate with no delay suggesting super human multi-boxing skills, 20 people running a 24/7 lan party, or an automated script.

Will run courier missions well beyond any normal human stamina or attention span, considering courier mission mechanics are by far the most dull feature in the game.

Youll also know the naming conventions are all alike. A lot of the umokka bots have lower case first names but upper case second names.

that should be every hauler’s standard behaviour

Say hi to a human, they will say hi back. Bump a human, they will tell you to ■■■■ off

Usually, yes. However I doubt it would be a major challenge to give bots a limited ability to respond to hails. Unfortunately. Chat bots are a thing after all, just not in EVE as yet.

Integrating a chat bot would take some serious dedication, all for some low return LP from courier bot farming. Though we had a bot farmer defend their farm from ganks for a day before moving to a new system.

Hauling 24-7. No human does that. Period.
At best it is account sharing, at worst a script.

Sunday night update.

We have 4 confirmed botting stations, two of which we have engaged at and documented pods running missions.

Hurtoken IV - 7 Perkone Warehouse
Poinen II - 3 Expert Distribution Retail Center
Airkio II- Sukuuvestaa Corporation Factory
Umokka X - 6 Top Down Factory

With support from readers of this thread and locals in those systems, we have amassed enough ships to do a full round of purging these systems of courier bots.

Now I have been told we are to STOP, and WAIT… pending REASONS:rage:

Mark my words, if nothing is done about the botting menace we have under our noses,
I vow to create such a spectacle that no-one will be able to sweep this under a rug.

For those following this thread, we thank you for your support and encouragement.

Please confirm if it was CCP or someone else. I call dibs on reddit drama.

We obviously made someone mad enough to re**** our actions. All I’m saying for now.

Now that the Trade Window Block has been worked around, anyone got any other methods?

What!!! The story can’t end here; what happened next?

…You get us all excited about players taking action to combat bots, then #nevermind?

Now I am even more intrigued!

Well, I just un-subbed my 3 accounts for the first time in 10 years because the bot numbers increase daily and CCP does nothing - 6 months of submitting tickets and using the report bot function, six months of frustration and zero action from CCP.

I can think of better ways to spend my money

Who the hell told you to stop, and why are you complying anyway?

The trade window thing is grey zone I think, but ganking is certainly not.
