Eve Client Freezes and Closes out Randomly

Hello,

I’ve been trying to figure out an issue I’ve been having. I do a lot of mining and once or twice a day it will just randomly freeze and crash. If I run a combat site it will happen 5 to 7 times within that 30 min period. It’s made it impossible to run combat sites. I’ve tried running LogLite to see if anything is happening when it crashes but there isn’t any specific process that makes it happen. I’ve changed graphic settings to the lowest possible and switched to DirectX 11 with no change. I’m hoping someone here has an idea of anything else I can try. Thank you!

Bummer…

I’m not a computer expert so hopefully somebody else will suggest some options to try with that…

Anyway, as for game settings, no guarantee this will help but it certainly doesn’t hurt to try..

While in-game, access Esc menu - Reset Settings tab - Clear all cache files… That will prompt a message of being logged out of the game… Select yes…

After the game closes, open Launcher settings (Gear icon upper right corner) - Select Eve Online tab - Scroll down and select ‘Verify Game Files’… After that is completed, select ‘Remove Unused Files’…

Hopefully that helps, it’s always a good idea to do that after a major game update, it’ll help remove little annoying bugs…

This also happens when your computer runs out of ram. When computer starts to swap eve client to the virtual memory client freezes and crashes without a trace.

One unexpected reason for this could be directx cache. Graphic card drivers saves rendered something in files on your disk and those can grow large after a while, especially if you play other games. Clearing directx cache might be part of the solution.
