For a long time, I was an active user and big fan of Neocom II. Unfortunately, the project is effectively dead now, and since it was written only for iOS, I decided to build a modern cross-platform alternative myself using Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).
The app is heavily inspired by Neocom II, but almost everything was reimplemented from scratch on a new architecture designed to support multiple platforms.
That was actually one of the main goals — to create a modern successor to the older companion apps that are no longer maintained. Really happy to hear the UI and overall experience feel good to use.
And yes, fitting tool is coming very soon
And huge thanks as well for all the help with testing and feedback — that really helps improve the app.
Surely you mean the biggest and bestest group in the game?
Jokes aside, what was the reason for calling this app after one of the current largest coalitions in the game?
Is it intended for Imperium members only?
I can imagine this name makes marketing your app a fair bit harder. People easily find a ‘pyfa’ or ‘evemon’, ‘eve rift’ or ‘zkillboard’ but when I search ‘EVE imperium’ I’m going to hit a lot of other more relevant results first.
And actually, you’re right — I had already planned to rename the app quite a while ago and even made a new logo for it, but never got around to changing the name publicly until now. It’s now called EVE Empire.
And no, the app is absolutely not intended only for Imperium members. Anyone can use it regardless of alliance/corp/faction — there’s nothing exclusive or restricted to any specific group.
You also make a very valid point about discoverability/searchability, which was another reason for finally making the change.
EN — EVE Empire 1.2.2 (build 16) An update has been released
Please update the app to the latest version.
New: Corporation support. Manage your corporation directly in the app — wallet & journal, market orders, members, moons, structures, starbases, industry, contracts, assets, and a wealth overview. Add a corporation from the character management screen using a character with the appropriate roles.
I’m planning to do one more small update for Beta testers with minor bug fixes, and after that I want to proceed with the official App Store and Google Play release.
If you still have any feedback, feature requests, or bugs you’ve found, I’d really appreciate it if you report them now.
I’m also planning to create a small website where the PC version of the app will be available.
After release, I plan to work on adding Mercenary Dens, freelance projects, and some additional calculators.
You can already download the PC version there (Windows and macOS). The site includes a short first-launch guide — you’ll need to allow the app once in your system, since the build is not yet code-signed.
The official iOS and Android release is on the finish line — submitting to the stores in the next few days. I’ll let you know once it passes review
