I am unable to find information on if this will work on Proton or Wine… The current installer that can be downloaded after the creation of the founder account does not seem to work. At least not out of the box. Or anyone tinkered around with it an made it work?
I think it will be hard to get this information at all…i heard the first time about EVE Frontier when you made this thread. I also suppose there will not be that many players on Linux as this is a closed beta under NDA that you have to pay for.
The NDA might make it difficult to address and discuss any bugs you might have with Linux as you possibly are not allowed to disclose them.
I also want to know if it runs on linux and if so: how.
And it’s very simple: without any information about this I will not buy it. Because if it not runs at all, I could just threw the money out of the window with the same effect.
I got the launcher running through Lutris using wine-staging… It installed EVE Frontier fine, however I now can’t run the launcher without errors. I’m hoping CCP will support on this moving forward.
Oh, installing on wine-staging, then switching to ge-proton9-20 lets me launch the launcher after installation. But yeah, reading the NDA, this is about all I’m going to say on the topic…
Hello! I got around to trying wine-staging. Works flawlessly. Thank you very much!
