First of all: don’t run evelauncher.sh as sudo or su. Never. If you have used
evesetup-1385477-x-x86_64.run
then you need sudo or su only for installing or deinstalling from the evesetup package, never for evelauncher.sh himself. If you have used the evesetup package mentioned before, deinstall it with
sudo ./evesetup-1385477-x-x86_64.run
(the -x- stands for used revision -2- or -3-)
then remove in your $HOME following directories
- $HOME/.cache/CCP
- $HOME/.config/CCP
- $HOME/.local/lib/EVE
- $HOME/.local/share/CCP
- $HOME/<path_to>/evelauncher
In case you have used sudo or su to start evelauncher.sh you must use sudo or su for removing this directories. Then you should have your $HOME cleaned up from the mess by using different concepts to launching EVE. Decide then, which way you will use, my solution described on my website with evesetup or the solution from UniWiki which is different, you can both not mix. In both cases is it the best, you begin a complete new installation with one of them.
On Ubuntu 16.04 you can only use a package with all dependencies for the launcher which are this evesetup-1385477-2-x86_64.run
in case, you will used it.
If you want to setup EVE in the UniWiki way you need only evelauncher-1385477.tar.gz
and make the steps described there.
