That looks like me
Yes, they have 1 account. Who has more than account is just to lend to someone else. Warcraft has not a single scenario where more people you bring, more chance to success you have cause:
-
Multiboxing in wow does not bring any advantage cause you can bring in raid 20 players only, and they have to be extremely efficient/perfect in movements etc. None can move 2 characters at same time for that goal. Same story for 5 players instances.
-
For PvP? Same story. There is not massive pvp where more players you bring, more chances you have. Biggest ranked PvP scenario is 10 vs 10 (or 15, don’t remember).
-
Multiboxing was used only for leveling multiple alts at same time (for reselling these account once cap leveled), and for farming in some spots filled of monsters to skin, no more (obviously these players ruined the economy cause they can offer same item for way lower price). You could find some multiboxers farming in some spots 4 years ago (but 1-2 multiboxer pack in the whole server at same time, server has thousands of players.). Now you can’t find more cause multiboxing is banned in all ways.
-
Competitive famous guilds make a lot of depts in golds cause also with multiboxing they could just gather more leather (completely useless for competitive raiding), but they need a lot of herbs and fish for raiding where multiboxing is useless.
In the past the % of multiboxers on wow was way under 1%, maybe 0,01%, dunno exactly. Here in eve almost all players who I spoke with said me they multibox.
What are we crying about today? People playing with more than one account?
What yours should be mine. And what is mine, should be mine. This time, it will be the real socialism. If you don’t believe in socialism, then you just don’t understand it.

My problem with multiboxing is that it turns eve into work. Managing more than 1 account is just a lot more effort. Now to be effective in eve, you can’t just have fun-- you have to legit put work in
Do you play chess with no pawns because mutiiboxing all those pieces turns the game into work?
Do you not allow houses and hotels in monopoly because multiboxing properties turns the game into work?
Do you only use one card at bingo night because multiboxing cards is turning it into work?
Do you have only one player in your fantasy football because multiboxing a whole team is turning it into work?
Mr Epeen
I played a few games where players would account share just to farm and level 24/7.
Normal players needing sleep and who played for a few hours a day could never hope to compete.
I suppose the same thing happens here because even as a solo player when you account share you can farm way more and gain isk far more quickly, whether it’s mining or sanctums, your wealth will increase rapidly.
So… why are you still here arguing? If you don’t like it, you aren’t in any way forced to be here. I know people who play a single account with a single alt and are perfectly happy. Others, like myself, use multiple accounts most of which I pay for with ISK earned in game. WHY SHOULD YOU CARE one way or the other? Eve can’t be won. In fact, ‘winning’ in Eve usually refers to quitting the game, and you claim to have made that choice. To my knowledge it’s the only true sandbox out there. I can’t speak for anyone else, but if it had the walls and restrictions of other MMORPGs I wouldn’t still be playing. There are few limitations here, save those you throw into your own path. If you’ve made your decision I wish you well, but please. Stop arguing to limit the play style freedoms you so obviously look down on.
The amusing thing is all the people defending multiboxing likely HATE the fleets of bots that also multibox.
Bots are an abomination.
Multiboxing at least takes some skill. Not much in the case of mining, but plenty in pvp.
WHY ARE YOU THROWING AWAY 10% OF ISK???
20mins to make a solo 0% tax corp.
Well If I made a corp it would have 42% tax, so I’m better off in an NPC corp right?
I can think of little worse in an online game full of horrible people to be all on your own in a one man corporation. No one to talk too, no dad jokes! Just you and some silly logos and pointless emblems, just to save some isk on bounty payouts that as an industrialist and trader don’t even matter that much.
I’m not even going to start on the fact that CCP don’t know how to handle tax in this game.
Most importantly is the social community, despite the fact that referral spam links have almost killed it, CAS chat remains by far one of the greatest starter school entry points a new player can filter through and get decent, experienced and impartial advice in the game.
I would also take losing tax to an NPC corp over paying for some player run corp group to PLEX their accounts every time.
HUH?
There are plenty of chat boxes in the game and outside the game you can join. All while keeping your own ISK you make.
WHAT’S THERE TO HANDLE?! 10% of your ISK is gone!? (I think LP also idk) Do missions, incursions, FOBs, bounty hunting rats… I mean I guess if you don’t PVE much for your ISK…
Welp, you do you. It’s just so strange… Like I am in an end stage HS corp where it’s just me and 3 friends who are active. I get a lot of social interaction through in game chats/discord. I don’t buy that argument for one second to justify a 10% tax going to nothing.
Fly safe.
Would it be considered viable if Capsuleers trusted one another? Multiple accounts remove the need to source simple tasks that would work together to create a larger goal.
PI for example is needed and just six planets per account. If more Capsuleers would team up to achieve the end goal together then there would be less need to multibox or hold many active accounts.
The main things we are using the accounts for could be made simpler if materials for that end product be made available via NPC”s
Why don’t NPC factions sell PI materials or even offer higher skill point rewards when choosing to follow their missions?
The most handy use for multiboxing is simply that of popping an alt into lowsec before I go ratting there, to see if there’s gate camp. And general scouting, such as for wardec targets before entering a system. Swapping chars within one account simply doesn’t give that same real time info.
This is where trust comes into play.
How do you ask others what is behind that stargate?
The first part of the thread bump was to break down into elements regarding the reason behind multiple accounts and ask how do we trust so that perhaps one day multiboxing is not needed as working together would reveal the intel or materials that we seek.
