EVE Online assets absolutely have value from the player’s perspective

That can be realised. Is the operative term.

I can’t sell, for example, any of my Golems for cashey money, not without breaching the ToS, and even then I’d get like $6 per Golem.

Not worth it.

Might as well just eat the cats.

Don’t argue with the bot.

Is some point being made ? Every activity, even being bored out of one’s brain and doing nothing, involves some ‘investment’ of precious time. Are you expecting God to hand back your lost Golem at some grand reconciliation at the end of time or something ?

ABSOLUTELY!!!

Funny how the same players who claim “EVE assets have no real value” are the first to flex billion-ISK killmails the second they drop someone’s bling-fit.

If in-game assets are “just pixels” and “not worth anything,” why do gankers flood zKill and Discord with KM screenshots like they just won the lottery? Why brag about the ISK value? Why do alliances track killboard efficiency, value destroyed, and SRP payouts like it’s Wall Street?

Because deep down, everyone knows the value is real. Not legally, maybe—but economically, strategically, and socially? No question. The moment a Marshal or a 2B ISK pod gets vaporized, the entire point of posting the kill is to say, “Look what we destroyed—it was expensive.”

If asset value didn’t matter, killmails wouldn’t even have ISK values attached. But they do. And people care. A lot.

So let’s drop the doublethink. You can’t mock people for losing valuable stuff and pretend that stuff wasn’t valuable. Pick a lane.

I invite you to show the court on the doll precisely where I have done this.

Stop inventing imaginary boxers then fighting them, it’s overtly cretinous in 2025.

I don’t know who you are.

Are you a ganker?

And the problem is ?

It’s not a problem. I’m merely pointing out the fact that you yourself are assigning value to that loss.

The value is the experience, not sure what’s hard to understand about it.

Of course I assign an ( in game ) value to the loss. I have lost around 3.5 Billion worth of ships myself across my 18 chars. But its only a fraction of my total worth…and collectively those 18 chars have been involved in 3 Trillion worth of destruction. Which is a lot.

I have a huge collection of ships. I consider every single one ‘lost’ already…as all of them no doubt will be at some point.

After a lot of soul-searching, I’ve decided it’s finally time to be honest with you all.

I wasn’t podded. I wasn’t hacked. I wasn’t even ganked (surprisingly). The truth is… I was a man trapped in a woman’s avatar. Every time I opened my character sheet, I felt a creeping, visceral discomfort—like watching someone else loot your wreck and post the killmail before your corpse even cools. It wasn’t just cosmetic. It was existential.

Logging in became a psychological mining operation—slow, soul-sucking, and with diminishing returns. I began experiencing symptoms: queasiness during warp tunnels, hypersensitivity to pink SKINs, and an irrational hatred of Minmatar haircuts. I knew something had to change.

So I did what any brave capsuleer would do. I biomassed the old me and emerged from the clone vat reborn—as a properly masculine avatar, fully aligned with my inner lore.

To those who knew my old toon: please update your overview settings. She’s gone. He’s here. And he’s ready to undock without the identity crisis.

Fly safe—or at least fly authentic.

Lol. Over half my 18 chars are female. All the ‘main’ ones are. The fact that I look like Donald Sutherland in RL is irrelevant. Does anyone really even care ? We are all imaginary characters 23,000 years in the future.

Wait, Eve isn’t real?!?

As a philosophical idealist I question whether anything is.

This is a problem with some people, they can’t step away from the fiction. There are some immature people, regardless of age, who are too impressionable. They are influenced and susceptible to all forms of media. Don’t blame the game, some people are just insane.

It is only a game,

Have fun!

I tried to like your post, but I’m fresh outta likes

Just like MMA, Boxing, Chess or Baduk. It’s a serious endeavor for others.
