EVE Online: Invasion - General Feedback

It’s not that bad you just need pro logies, and enough pro logies, we are testing triglavian ships only fleet tomorrow or very much later today, ccplease the Zarmazd needs [insert amount here]% reduction in Remote Capacitor Transmitter powergrid requirement, like some of the other t2 logistic ships, better for fit decent buffer tank so logies dont go poof.

This is what should happen… you dont deal with drifters - they ■■■■ you up… 'something something - invasion?"

Don’t have a problem with that. Just makes the proposed tagging impossible.

The annoying thing about these ships is that they don’t leave any wrecks. Waste of ammo.

It’s rubbish.

Apparently CCP nerfed the loot in World Arks even further. Not only do these extra spawns not create any wrecks but there doesn’t even appear to be any more good loot.

So basically this site is now completely pointless to run, congrats. Gonna try it one more time and if it’s still like that I’ll stop playing I guess. Challenging content is fun, having more ships and roaming fleets crash your party, good. But removing rewards while increasing the difficulty requires Stupidity trained to Level V.

Salvage is barely worth anything now. Yet you need to bring more people so your share is even less. And then this insane idea of having no wrecks appear. Whoever came up with that idea, someone get a restraining order for that person to disallow him or her within 500km of the CCP HQ.

  • Increase the amount of NPC’s in the site (natural spawns) - Check.
  • Make roaming fleets warp to the World ARKs - Check.
  • Make roaming fleets massive - Check.
  • Remove the bounties from those Triglavians - Check.
  • Place the most important things in salvage - Check.
  • Make sure that there’s no counter-play to ninja salvagers - Check.
  • Make sure that the NPC’s never switch to random, defenseless ships which are warping in and out of the anomalies - Check.
  • Make sure that the Zorya’s commander does not drop at least one green module every time you finish the site - Check.
  • Even after increasing the toughness of a site, make sure not to increase rewards - check.
  • EDIT: there are too many Triglavians now in the World ARK - make sure that they don’t create the salvage - check. (Note: it seems this fixes few points - no salvage, no problem!)
  • TODO: make sure to think of few more ideas how to turn people away from your new content.

damn ccp… you skipped shooting yourself in the foot and went straight for the knee… 3_3 removing reward from your ‘content’ … lulz

Sad really, the content is cool, but the rewards don’t match the difficulty or risk.

CCP still has not fixed the issue that I cannot ignore the “Do you really want to duell” warning completely. When will we get the check box to not see this useless notification ever again?

Hit ESC got to Geeneral settings tab down the left on the middle somewhere there is a dueling auto reject invitations box, tick that one and you will never see dueling invitations ever again.

I might be mistaken but I think he’s talking about a confirmation message window that appears onscreen after accepting a Duel request.

There should be a small check-box in the bottom of that message window to select so that the confirmation message window doesn’t show again.

Ok now that you say that, I think you’re right, what a HUGE problem…

The roaming fleets and no wrecks certainly are side effects/bugs. But I fear the team already moved on to the next topic abandoning the invasions. As usual. What a wasted potential.

Hi, I resubbed my accounts for Invasion, so here are my thoughts about the event as a whole:

-At the very first few days when there have been no sites yet and everything was just warping around and landing on you (as it still is), that was the most consistent fun. However, the goodies of the event certainly are in the completion of the World Ark, so these roaming fleets only add ambient (and the odd additional difficulty) when doing Invasions, which I find sad.

-With a lot of the “save” income from Triglavians in salvage, it is disheartening to see your effort being harvested by other players that don’t contribute anything to the “effort” and simply fly untanked destroyers with salvage fit, because they’re cheap and DON’T GET SHOT AT ALL by the Triglavians. There is no proper counterplay other than sacrificing 2 of your pilots to be sitting in Noctises in an attempt so salvage faster than the carrions.

-Once the World Ark is figured out, it’s not hard anymore. It’s just the same hyper repetitive PvE content, and what’s so bad about it, is that you, CCP, just add new content over new content without making the old one work. A few months from now, Triglavian Invasions - if they keep happening like Sansha’s do (doesn’t anyone think Kuvakei finally realized that it isn’t working?) - will just be another completely figured out facette of EVE PvE available only to very dedicated groups that are contesting the majority of the sites and thus corner the whole income aspect of it.

-The mechanic of awarding LP / Payout could, theoretically, be played HARD. All you have to do is sit in a fleet and at least assist someone who is shooting the trigs - once. That’s it, you get a share of the payout, equal to those who put in the effort to kill the site.

-There is a huge amount of disconnects happening at completion of the site. Could be due to graphics that are set in motion when the World Ark mobilizes, but I can’t tell. Today, we had 4 ships disconnect upon completion, one after the other. It was almost as if one relogged, the next got disconnected. Very dangerous, needs fixing from your side.

-There is a point in the World Ark, once you reach it, destroyed Triglavians stop spawning wrecks, only the Zorya’s will still create one.

-There are Harrowing Vedmaks that are displaying the Battleship Icon.

Now, to some feedback regarding possible solutions:

First of all, your AI needs to stop prioritizing Logistics. It is probably wanted that way, as your AI figures it needs to break the Logi, and once that happens, it’s hunting season. However, that will prevent the almost from swapping to any other ship. There’s very fragile targets around usually (for example, ninja salvagers), that can move around freely. They should fear the Triglavians, too. This would, obviously, also mean that the Noctis draws aggro, too, so it also puts strain on the people that actually do the site. Please make happen.

Second, you need to create more dynamic encounters. The World Ark is such a huge ship, it’s kinda sad to see it not play any role in the fight whatsoever. It could field superweapon effects, for example (heavily telegraphed) AoE Doomsday Effects that force the fleet to move. It could release huge AoE Energy Neutralization effects, that will 100% wipe your capacitor clean, on any ship. This will put pressure on the fleet doing it.

Third, you gotta get rid of your whole anomaly based PvE. This isn’t just true for Invasions, it is very true for every aspect of EVE PvE. Predictable spawned, hyper repetitive content is not good content. Possible solution could look like this:
In an Invasion system, all usual celestial based NPC spawns are ceased and replaced with Triglavian Fleets. Once “Conduits are Forming” stage is reached, you add a new item to the loot table (kinda rare), that works similiar to a Filament or a Bookmark: You can use it to throw your fleet into a deadspace pocket, which will become a visible beacon on everyone’s overview, where you will be able to take out a Conduit. Ideally, that thing does nasty stuff like already described for the World Ark, of variable strength depending on the conduit (Minor/Major). Once the World Ark is scouted, it will appear as a rare Fleet Variant in the regular Belts. You kill a Fleet, respawn timer happens, new fleet appears, here’s your chance that a Xhordaz warps in on you and hell breaks loose. Other active Triglavian Fleets in System will come to assist it, it will do nasty stuff as described earlier, it really gives you a very, very bad time if you think all you gotta do is throw 20 ships at it and stand still.

tl;dr:
Invasions seemed to be nice fresh content, but suffers from many things every current PvE content already has. Please, for the love of all your playerbase, do a huge PvE revamp for all of EVE, and you can very well test it with Invasions. This however isn’t a proper Test, it’s Sansha Incursions with a different Flavour.

The fact that the ‘Canicule’ accelerators will expire at August, it makes me think that CCP screwed\missed summer expansion … Syrias wrote a nice article - I do hope CCP will read and adjust\implement\re-iterate.

With the newest changes to the World Ark we once again encountered a lot of frustration, and literally no reward.

• Multiple ships got stuck in the World Ark, as they were attempting to warp it was impossible for us to lock it. After roughly 15 minutes it finally managed to dislodge itself from the Ark. I understand us not being able to lock them as they are in warp, but initiating warp should not break lock and make it immune to targeting.

• More Waves, More Towers - Which is good
• Still no wrecks - Which is bad

• 10 people warp in and just start randomly shooting during the last wave and they get half the ISK/LP Payout, I’d prefer it if the payout goes to the Fleet that has destroyed the most ships/dealt the most damage

Another issue I have with these World Ark Proving Grounds, is that the final Zorya spawn does not really feel special. It has a different name and some more HP, but that’s about it. I understand that there’s only so many things that a BS Hull should be able to do, so why not make it something bigger?

A Triglavian Carrier as the final spawn.
Put a Bounty on it so that not all the reward is in the loot and give it some really annoying modules, Smartbombs, Neuts, Fighters.

Depending on how many other ships are still on grid, this would provide a decent challenge especially if it receives RR. Give it a scram so it always sits close on whoever it’s shooting, and this should also prevent 30 minutes of it zooming around grid trying to re-position itself.

This carrier variant of the Zorya could also be a rare spawn with a higher drop chance. At least something to bring some variety to a quite repetitive site.

The Triglavian Invasion has a ton of potential, but as Syrias already pointed out, it is hyper-repetitive and the roaming fleets just don’t have any real importance.

• Why not allow players to use a fleet wide filament to take the fight to the Triglavians (without a time limit).
• Why not have the Invading Forces in High do the same thing the Invading Drifters are doing in Null? Have them destroy player owned structures, make a PvE Event out of every bash. They open a conduit at a citadel and start pounding it. Players can now destroy the attacking forces. If there is some interesting reward for it, you’d get players defending other peoples Structures, or they would have to do it themselves.
Of course only vulnerable and Low Power Structures should be subject to this.

Almost limitless potential for these NPCs, but CCP has a lot of work to make them really interesting. Especially the NPCs being stuck in warp and can’t be locked stuff has been very frustrating for years now, I’d love to see that changed.

Edit: Please put Loyality Points in the Wallet, not the Journal

Edit2: The Loot has once again been nerfed while at the same time the site has been made harder - Do one of these changes, not both at the same time.

Do you still encounter disconnect?

I just came back after a break from EVE 4-5 year.
But holy ■■■■ please let these Triglavians destroy each and every ■■■■■■■ station.
(and dont make them buildable again, at least not so easily)
The whole EVE universe is saturated with these lame ass stations.
Everyone and their mother has one anchored there is no value in these things at all.
POS’es weren’t great but these stations are just lame.
EVE is dying harder then ever the only good change i’ve seen is the removal for of grid pvp boosters (that ■■■■ was for pussies).
I really hate to see EVE die i’d hoped to play this game for another 20 years
but it seems they made EVE’s weakest point into main focus now and targeted at casuals.
■■■■ just revert servers to 2011 EVE CCP !
I will stay subbed for some time and see but this is not EVE i left and i dont know how long i wil enjoy this EVE

Since I only deal with Triglavians outside conduit areas, my observations may be different than others. I have noticed a drop in quantity of materials being salvaged per ship, although the ratio of each type has remained fairly constant. In addition, wandering fleets are becoming more “slippery” as when I d-scan down some ships and warp to them, they either are not there or immediately warp out within 10 seconds. I have even had a fleet warp out on my arrival, I shut off my needed modules, and then a fleet warps right back in. Still haven’t seen an anchoring ship outside of a conduit since my “incident”; is this still true or do they appear following World Ark spawn and withdrawing phases?

I’ve noticed the roaming fleets are a bit more brutal in size, and slipperiness, which I like. However it does seem that the amount of salvage stayed the same due to less “successful” salvages. I don’t remember there being so many completed salvages that were not “successful”.

There was an Anchoring in a roaming fleet at a NPC station that surprised the hell out of me. I have yet to see one at a gate though.
