EVE Planetary Planner

Thanks @Ideki this is a great tool, obviously with a lot of work behind it :+1:

I have just recently started using your tool and noted that the suggester dosn’t suggest anything higher then product level 2… Is this correct?

Been using your tool, I like it. I do however encounter a problem when I try to connect via API. I log in, click the authorize button, and get an error for:

This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.
done

I don’t see any other posts of people having this issue, any ideas?

Impressive tools i concur. Thanks 5 millions (ISK).
But yes I do have excactly the same issue with the API.
I see that Ideki hasnt posted since 2019. I hope he is still around…

I am still around.
Actually just went back to Omega.
And been taking a look at PI again.
Even made a couple of fixes and improvements to the tool.
I got am idea for a simplification of some parts that I am working on.
So either I will make a small release for the fixes/minor improvements soon, or just complete the big change first.
I am trying to come up with an estimate of the time needed to implement the big one.

Here is a quick list of what I have done so far (but not released yet)

  • Suggester planets list now shows planet type in the name. Ex: Jita I (Barren)
  • Added support to Enable/Disable the top news
  • Transparent background default to not transparent
  • Fixed a potential exception when getting the type of planets to port
  • Made the whole title bar draggable instead of just the icon
  • Fixed an issue with drag scrolling the production plan

I still have a few minor quality of life improvements I would like to get in.

As for the API support, the big change I am working on might actually make it obsolete. Still not sure on that one.
So if the API support stays in the end, I will fix it.

Also I have stopped supporting the market history and might actually remove it.
The database grew too big too quickly and I cannot pay for a bigger server.
Also I had to let my own personal computer run during the day to gather the data, and that messed up my SSD drives.
I might put back the feature later on if people find it useful, but so far I haven’t got any positive (or negative) feedback on it.
Probably nobody was actually using it.

Version 8.5 is now available.

On top of all I said in my previous posts, I also fixed a bug when trying to add a Space Route (thanks to Arcturus Aquila for his help in reproducing the issue)

Love your work. Any chance you could make the Product data window sizeable? I prefer to see a whole list rather than having to scroll, sorry petty i know  Of course i might be missing something

Hey Mono,
I’ll see what I can do.
I am working on a new feature at the moment, so it might take me a bit of time because I can get around to look into what you ask.
Be patient and fly safe

This looks like a brilliant app for what it’s worth @Ideki, well done, great work.

Does anyone know if a Mac equivalent for this exists? Alternatively, @Ideki, do you fancy making one? (although I realise that this might be [is] a big ask)

Hey @Mu_ad_Diib, how is the prophecy coming for you

A longtime ago, someone asked the same thing as you, and another kind player actually found a work around to make the app work on Mac.

Here is the link: http://eveplanetaryplanner.com/OS-X-support.html

And no, I do not fancy myself making one for Mac sorry.
Already have enough trouble finding the time to work on the one for Windows.

I like the tool, and you have clearly put a lot of work into it, now i just need to figure it out, very new to PI itself so will take some time  just found the “about” button that i was about to ask about lol

Ahah, welcome to the show!
I really need, and plan, to rework the tutorial on the website.

@Brezzin_Tor and @Benjamin_Dawson I am not sure if you will read this.

This is regarding the API support

As far as I can tell, everything is working.
The message you get is not an error.

It is actually a confirmation from the webservice that the API data has been setup properly.
I have updated slightly the message to be less confusing.

Before it was saying ‘Done
Now it says ‘API setup complete. Just close this window.

I hope this will be less confusing.

I have completed the new features, and well as made some requested changes and bug fixes.

But I will not release version 8.6 right away.
I am updating the ‘How To’ section of the site to be up to date with the latest version.

I have all the screenshots ready, but the code of the website is a total mess since it is actually ripped from my old Google Site.
So either I will redo the whole site from scratch or just patch things for the tutorial.
Not sure yet which path I’ll take (most probably redo) but it will take me a few days to do it.

So sit tight and be a little bit more patient please

Status Report:

I have recreated the website, and done some modifications to it.
But I did not publish it yet because I am currently writing the tutorial.
And that takes a lot of time because I am trying to cover as much as possible as clearly as possible.
Current eta is somewhere next week (because I do not have much time each day to work on it)

I am still working on the Tutorial.
About 50% of it is ready.
(50% of the quantity of text, not the number of tutorials since Planets Plan represent a HUGE chunk of the tutorial)

Current tutorial status:
Main view
Production Plan
Reverse Lookup
Planets Plan (the big one that I dread to write…)
Notifications
Find
Suggester
Tools
API
Product Data popup
Cost popup
Planets Data popup
All in One popup

I ported a feature of the old UI into to the new UI: All in One
This feature let you update all the extractors of your Planets Plan in 1 convenient popup instead of having to go through each planet.

I am also removing the MaskedTextBox from the extractor UI because it is creating more problems that solving them.
Instead there will be 3 textboxes (days, hours, minutes)

Also made so minor UI tweaks here and there.
