Eve Server Connection lost / Lags ingame

Hello, i´ve the problem that i lose connection to the server completly. Or just have a hard lag for few seconds.

My internet is stable. I reinstalled the game. Keeps on losing connection. Windows are loading long or dont appear and loose connection again. Didnt have the problem before a few days/weeks ago…

Location: Germany

Thanks o/

Try using a VPN - that will likely resolve your concern.

  1. Close your game client.

  2. Open EVE Launcher and go to “Settings”.

  3. Go to “Tools“

  4. Click on “Start LogLite“. A detailed monitoring and logging application will open.

  5. Start the game.

  6. When the problem happens, switch to the LogLite application and save the report (“File > Save as…“)

  7. Go to EVE’s support page (support.eveonline.com) and create a support request. Attach your saved LogLite logs to your support request.

That may work, in the fact you are rerouting your traffic through other servers. Otherwise it is near next to impossible to ask your ISP to alter theirs so you can enjoy your video game. You may as well ask CCP to build a mirror server in Germany. If the chosen VPN uses the same server hop, causing the disconnect or lag, then you are still in the same position as before.

ISP can promise you high speed broadband, but they are only expressing their service and not the multitude of others the signal travels through. If the lag or disconnect is from CCP, then you would know, everyone would be screaming about it.

That is the resolution. I’ve spoken to CCP about this and they have confirmed.

EvE Online handles latency different than normal applications. In a game like PubG or Starcraft, the latency will just appear as a slight delay or lag. However, in EvE, it’s an automatic disconnect. If a node is struggling, you are too! The strength of CCP’s approach is that it allows for calculations server-side, instead of delegating them client side, and that prevents various methods of injection hacking. This is why EvE has never had the problem of people glitch and wallhacking. There are no landsharks in New Eden! Unfortunately, a stable connection is critical, but many ISPs route their traffic through hubs which are not sufficiently stable. Fortunately, a good VPN resolves this problem. You can think of a VPN as the “toll lane” on a highway - you have to pay a bit more, but there’s less traffic and less delay.

As an example, if I use my standard ISP, my connection will likely route through Houston, Chicago, and Atlanta, where it will be constantly disrupted by construction workers and gangbangers. On a bad day, my connection has a layover in Vegas. In contrast, my VPN routes nicely through Ottawa, and then it’s a direct flight to London. Why use public mass transit, when you can fly in style?

Are you using a WiFi connection or ethernet? Ethernet is far more stable.

I uninstalled my VPN because it slowed down my overall connection and was actually the source of a lot of lag spikes.

My connection is usually 900 down and 850 up, yet through my VPN, i was getting 150 down and 50 up on a good day. I was even paying extra for premium connections.

Since removing it, I’ve been far more stable.

Okay, thanks for your help Pilots o7

I´ll try it with VPN and start the logs. I´m now logged in with VPN on American Server, also will tell you about what helps and what happened, maybe other Pilots from same location ( GER ) got the same problems.

A VPN does not guarantee better performance, and can even make it worse if you use the wrong VPN. I use https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/ and find in cases where my connection has been dropping repeatedly, it will stabilize when I run the VPN.

I have the same issue from germany. I made a ticket and still wait for ccp.
They did recomand to reinstall the game but nope not working.

However i did leach the Avira VPN and this makes it work, it still annoys me as even other games work without an issue and eve went bork since 1 week.

Same issue from Germany. Unplayable.
