I just noticed on the EVE-Survival page this message:
Server HOST Messages: HELLO THIS SITE WILL GO OFFLINE 10-16-2017 - i AM CANCELING MY SERVER CONTRACT AS i CAN NO LONGER AFFORD IT IF ANYONE WHATS THE DATA AND OR THE DOMAIN NAME TRANSFERED PLEASE CONTACT ME AT DANI@GATERUNNER.COM BEFORE THIS DATE. IT WAS A GOOD RUN, REGARDS DANICE
Someone has already had the servery databasey magic stuff transferred to them and it will get reheated by another community member. Was on Reddit the other day.
When these things happens, I wonder if CCP could help these sites by providing a hosting option. With CCP’s bandwith usage, affording the traffic of a site like this is literally peanuts, whereas for a smaller user the bandwidth cost can easily be too much.
There used to be a ccp-hosted eve wiki. It was shut down in favor of ccp choosing to let player groups maintain and offer that information (e-uni and such)
Just checked my original bookmark for EvE Survival and the site seems to be back up, at least the bookmark takes me to the site. Anyone else tried this lately?
I got the same 502 bad gateway error on Friday when I clicked the link out of habit.
Clicked it again yesterday, again out of habit and it went to the site.
I did not specifically save any of the pages or tell my browser to cache or save the pages.
Just now I cleared all of my browser cache, cookies, history and all other forms of stored data I can find.
Link still goes directly to the site and the 20 or so pages I checked including sections of the site I have never been to all work fine.
