EVE to STREAM

Good day everyone,

I am introducing today the complete rework of the Eve2Twitch bot into a new name and with new features!

First, what WAS Eve2Twitch:
Eve2Twitch is a bot that is used by more than 450 Twitch Channels, including the Fenris Creations one. The role of this bot is to register your character name (In Game Name, IGN) with a simple command, and have it accessible across all the EVE Online streamers on Twitch. You are able to register it, show it, and, if you are a broadcaster or a moderator, search a user by its In Game Name or from its Twitch Username.

The first version of the bot was originally designed to serve UND3RACHI3VER and UncleOnline, and the codebase was fairly simple. However, it quickly became requested on more and more channels, until today where more than 450 channels use it. The code base did not follow well, and was out of date on how the bots work on Twitch (we were using IRC websockets, where the new version should be Conduits/Shards and Webhooks or Websocket on Event Based content).

After 2 to 3 years of struggle, I am finally proud to announce you the whole new version 2.0.0 of the bot !

Here is what changes in version 2.0.0:

  • You are now able to add or remove the bot as you wish on your channel (previously, people had to DM me to be added)
  • You can now select that the bot responds either with the generic “eve2stream” user, or with a platform Specific one (eve2twitch, eve2kick, …)
  • You can now use the bot on Kick and Discord, in addition to Twitch
  • You can now LOCK your character name to prevent people from registering it
  • Users who registered their EVE Online character and their Platform (Kick, Twitch, Discord) will show as Certified when they display their IGN
  • You no longer need to set the bot as a moderator for it to work (IRC was limiting us to 100 channels where the bot is not a moderator)
  • You can now, as a streamer, write a testimony about what you like on the bot. Those who are approved are shown in the frontpage, but that also makes me happy to read them
  • The website now lists all the commands available, on all platforms
  • The website now has a “regularly asked questions” for streamers
  • The website now shows the monthly giveaway winners of the SKINs we raffle among all the users of the bot
  • The website now has a “Support us” page showing how you can help: Referral codes in the EVE Store and Markee dragon, ISK donations, …
  • You can now purge your IGN from the website, and purge the link between people who might not be you but who registered YOUR character
  • You can now register your IGN on the platforms you linked without having to go type it in the chat
  • If you are a user of the V1 bot, you now have a switch to enable/disable the V1 bot if the V2 is not satisfying you yet. However, over time, this V1 will be dropped completely. If something does not match your taste, feel free to reach me ingame.

Thank you for your time!
