EVE Vegas was pitiful and makes me feel this game has no future

You had me all the way until ‘Star Citizen’. LOL!!!

Good luck with that 4TB SSD you’re going to need. BTW, dozens of AAA titles have been conceived, beta’d, developed, published, shipped, played, and even sequaled since that train-wreck of a scam started.

Satisfaction is the death of desire. When you understand that you will realize it is nothing but an eternal kickstarter with no planned end. When idiots are forking over THOUSANDS of dollars for ships that really do nothing in a world that isn’t even cohesive, why on Earth would you stop the idiots from ‘supporting development’.

“Look guys, they have realistic soda cans! OMG $500. TAKE MY MONEY!!!”

Jpeg spaceships are the new Bitcoin, get with the times.
You obviously don’t understand game development.

Given the recent S(J)W movies, I’m suspect of Hamill’s judgement concerning quality material.

Its called the Human Condition and it will never change.

1st world problems - bitch about a game while others starve, at war, being frozen alive in refrigerated trucks but sure lets whine about how a game makes you this angry you could

rage

Some ask why I post these memes why because its a friggin game and reading all the whining about a game is actually comical in its self so I’ll continue to post memes and take the piss at everyone’s whining flag them all you like ISD keep unflaggin as it keeps them game fully employed mawhahahah

I agree with the OP. Under CCP Seagul at least EVE had a vision, a direction.

At the moment the vision for EVE seems to be … “do what it takes to keep the lights on”.

With new owners they may have not decided how to precede yet, hence them being a bit vague.

My guess is that there were given subscription targets to hit and that is really their only concern or as @Flamespar aptly put it, the lights will be turned off.

If the Korean market doesn’t latch on hard to EVE then my guess is 2020 might be the last year.

But ya, guessing…

Nobody is going to shut down Eve. They might eliminate the Iceland staff. They might move the servers. But they will continue to sell $15/month subscriptions, plex, and whatever else they can monetize.

It really depends,

Did they want EvE?
Does EvE make a good profit?
How much of a headache is it to keep it running?
Did CCP make any conditions when they sold it?
Is it worth developing EvE or just keep it ticking over?

I wouldn’t like to guess at this point what’s going to happen with EvE.

I think there is enough of hardcore and invested players to pay for game maintenance.
It remains to be seen can they undo some of what is pulling this game to the bottom
CCP for years supported griefing, babyseal clubbing etc
Citadels are unmitigated disaster one thing this game didn’t need.
Pandering to nullsec to such extent that it is comical and study worthy at the same time for so long that begs the question how they gonna unfuck what they did in any meaningful way.

I think it’s the MMO tech they wanted…

The server tech specifically…

A game that has server updates throttled down to discrete server “ticks” and purposefully extends update times when there’s a multitude of objects in the scene. Yeeaaaaa I don’t know if this is bleeding edge stuff.

In short: Yes.
