Even with a massive alliance move we hit really low player count numbers

No, not poor PvE but just PvE in general…is the entire problem with Eve. An endless succession of ‘events’ portray Eve as solely a PvE game. Well, guess what ? PvE is repetitive and boring and I’ve heard many say so.

If there’s a demise of Eve, it started the minute CCP forgot that Eve is fundamentally a PvP game and that is where the real excitement lies.

PVP just does not seem to pay well though. The best ways to make isk usually revolve around avoiding pvp.

CCP facilitates and encourages anti-player behavior.

Expect it to get worse and worse until they figure this out… which is likely to be never.

Maybe they’re slowly shifting towards a new player base, one patch at a time.

Yes, one that doesn’t whine so much.

This is what I believe. Evolution rather than Revolution. A sudden lurch in the direction of consensual PvP only (in Highsec) would probably lead to mass uninstalls from affected players and, indeed, from others who support their play styles.

The game has to attract and keep new players on a rolling basis, counted in years (or even in decades). Times change; tastes change. With each generation there come fresh opportunities and challenges. CCP would hardly be doing its job if it ignored such considerations.

Nerfs to ganking, for example, somewhat resemble the effects of a Damage-over-Time weapon (included for topicality). You have the chance to bail at any point, but your eventual doom is sealed.

At some point, the lights will indeed go out - for me. Until then, I open the launcher and log in.

Well…I give CCP advance warning that my subscription(s) will end the very minute any area of space becomes 100% safe for any reason whatever. I want Eve…not Teletubbie La La Land.

Trying to please all the people all the time just doesn’t work. Even St Paul noticed this 2000 years ago…

“I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other!”

But what do you mean? They’re so cuuute! :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Do you mean from players or safe from NPCs too?

They really haven’t dune much lately to support this. Hell havoc letting players turn .6 and .5 into pseudo ls is a pretty major step in the opposite direction.

Suddenly having your structures vulnerable has been amazing as a source of forced player interaction

Hey Sasha! My bad, I should have used the reply function to make it clear who this is adressed to.
It’s this fella →

My apologies for the confusion!

Step by step inch by inch.

Scanning disruptors could be next. Something like a mobilr depot that uses fuel and prevents probes from working. Player drops it before doing missions knowing they wont get scanned down and ganked in the middle of it. If the depot is destroyed they know trouble is near and can dock up.

Don’t tease me…

From players. But heck…if all you’re gonna have is NPCs why pay £xxx a month for that when you can play Homeworld offline.

The reality is that the people who whine about ‘consensual’ PvP are simply the most vocal yet small group. I think far more people get bored from lack of PvP…the absurd requirements for wardecs…and so on.

Then according to this statement of yours:

It is time to say good bye as Abyssal Space is a thing, even if temporary for each filament. :smiling_imp:

32000 are terrible numbers you would have to be truly clueless to think that its good. Half of these are bots… In my Nulsec corp half the guys have 10+ accounts its crazy…

Ah yes…thanks for reminding me of extra places I can camp for a turkey shoot.

Well I am kind of slow, I admit, but not totally clueless. I do have a few clues.

Don’t forget to link the killmails.

I doubt very much that we will ever see those numbers on a regular basis anymore as the pricing will put off most new players.

Next time they go up I’m out of here as well.

Hahaha.

There’s none so blind as those who refuse to see.
