So how many Defias pirates am I supposed to kill and who do I take the bandannas to?
Post of the year. The tears lol…
EvE players are not that dumb!
got point using “look at” a gate… serious? (and a lot of others things…)
are we just 4 years old kids?
really disapointed
Thanks for all the positive feedback everyone! I wont even waste my time trying it now…
CCP should make the nodes drop more loot.
Is quite hard the hack lv, core with 90 conhece usually drops good things.
(I dont have any problem hacking with 60 virus strength)
Sadly a very unimpressive and dissapointing event.
A few of the reasons;
-
Junk loot is boring and tedious.
(no one wants to spend all their time sorting through junk in wrecks) -
Unclear as where to go to find event
(no directions in neocom) -
Unintuitive mission descriptions
(eg. “examine North gate” … look at it? load info from it? activate it?) -
High damage in site, relegating many players from participating
(Battleship at over 100km away still does high damage, cruisers damage quickly ramps up) -
Bugged UI with no opportunity to cancel/cycle through missions
(“Defeat Centurions with medium weapons” > going to take a long time. “Barge/Exhumer PVP kills” > relegates player participation, players additionally are forced to complete missions to progress, as no way to cancel missions)
I really can’t see how this was play-tested at all before it was deployed… usually the idea of testing is to root out the bugs and fix them, but today has had a myriad of issues intermixed with ongoing issues, which sadly detracts from the potential fun.
Additionally, it appears as though the team has just been unimaginative and used place-holder assets for the loot tables on wrecks, and has shifted away from a tried and tested method of event to try something more adventurous with practically zero understanding… why this was done I cannot fathom. Fixing something that isn’t broken and sucessfully breaking it. More “unintended features” from CCP I guess…
It’s just so pathetically lazy that I’d say you were trying to drive the playerbase away…
Add CCP Santa who ganks everyone that enters and everyone get 1 trit
This aint wow
Well played CCP
This event is the biggest trash because you have produced long. Take with CCP significantly less drugs then it should work again with the thinking. And maybe you’ll get some bugs fixed before you bring new stuff into the game every few days. And yes, great “new” Skins
DO YOU WANT THE PLAYERS TO BE BLIND AT THIS EVENT?
I like the big room thing. It’s different. So, 1 per constellation is understandable if the respawns and loot drops work. However, the white out thing is not necessary. CCP please drop the booster BPC’s. They are not helping players.
Not very happy with the event either.
Now I am lucky enough to know a rather quit corner of high sec where I could run the event all day with 0 competition… the few ppl that showed up here and there quickly decided to move on as they realized they would not be able to compete with a Paladin sniping the battleships.
Frig and cruiser loot is worthless, but that was to be expected and is totally fine imo.
Spawn rate over some periods was OK to in this situation with no competition, but overall probably I was shooting 5 ships every 30 minutes.
Taking into account that I did not shoot that many ships in the end, the loot kinda was OK for me… made 1.3 bil… which was not nearly as good as past events that I played in, but meh 1.3 bil in high sec in one day… can not really complain about that. Especially considering I was just sitting around doing more or less nothing :). But of course with competition in the site it would have been totally different.
The thing that kinda bugs me the most however is… in the sites with other people there is not much room for direct Player on Player ship combat. On my way to my usual deserted area for that kind of event I peaked into some other sites along the way.
Seeing how crowded those were with heavy hitting ships, being able to freely warp around, going suspect, trying to grab some loot in hope to get a fight out of it would have been complete suicide at least for any solo player. Which I find rather sad. On top of being able to warp around freely within the sites you can even bypass the acceleration gates and directly drop on people as well.
While I don´t mind people using marauders in those event´s… I am totally fine with that part, as an event that favors some long range damage application is nice to see for a change and seeing all those drone users warping of with a sad face kinda makes me chuckle. And I would not mind going against 1-2 or even 3 marauders with the right ship for the job, but with the possibility of everyone and their mother piling up on you directly, the motivation to try something like that goes towards 0.
Now, I don´t want to say it´s as terrible as a lot of ppl here say, but it certainly is not an event I will run for several days… it´s simply not entertaining enough, and even if the bugs get fixed, which surely will help with the rewards a bit, I don´t really see myself having a lot of room to have fun there. Might as well just run missions instead.
Tried it and found it really kind of boring. I always thought the Crimson ones were pretty fun(ish) at least they had some reasonable rewards for your time.
This one makes me just want to go watch Netflix, Buh-Bye.
Seriously guys. I was waiting for this New Year’s event and you rolled out such a frank ■■■■. Well, honestly, tell me, CCP, did you think for a long time that people should slip this ■■■■ right on New Year’s Eve? Is there no one in the office who could stop it at the stage of development of the idea?
Is anyone else getting a real-life physical headache from the brightness and the fact that I can’t see any of my lower modules due to the silhouette of the planet below?
The camera seems to be locked into some kind of restricted functionality in the North and East rooms, but not the west room. I’m told this was an old bug called “Abyssal mode” that has now been fixed in Abyssal deadspace sites…
Okay, so the ‘ice’ you need to mine uses the ‘ice’ icon, but isn’t actually ice…that’s frustratingly confusing…
yes i been using sunglasses…in fact if anybody has used eye drops avoid this event.
Guys…
To figure out ‘what to do,’ select the East, West, and North gates and choose 'Look At."
You’ll get your Examine achievement and instructions.

WTF
I’m done with this BS.
I have a slight suspicion the site is bugged- you can bypass the acceleration gates, frigs and cruisers don’t drop any event items, mordu’s legion rats drop crystal ammo etc.
Visually it’s good (need a pair of sunglasses though).
The items are interesting, bit sad base stat is not same/ better than T2 but at least it’s something unique and might find it’s use.
Not a big fan of craftable boosters, but if your corp is bigger than 5 people you should have no trouble making them in a day or two.
The initial objectives were confusing… “investigate the…” I clicked “info” on the gate and than spent 30 minutes flying around inside wondering why the objective is not completed. Eve players don’t use “look at” at stock acceleration gates…
Dps is surprisingly high, pretty sure people figured out how to do it in a VNI by now, but after the first anemic rats in left pocket you get full blown 10/10 DED dmg in the next (sitting still while looting a wreck is a bad idea). I like it but it’s not very new player friendly. Perhaps some indication which gate is for who in the event window? (mining easy, hacking-medium, ratting- hard?).
Guys relax, its only a heartfelt event.
Thanks for the feedback, we are trying a few new things and really appreciate your thoughts and opinions.
I LoL’d <> … ever heard of Testserver ?
Nah Feedback from Testserver is not intresting…
^^
