Evergreen Daily Login Rewards

I don’t mind the rewards but one big thing I’d like to see gone is the Auto-Applied function of the system. If I already have a skin or not the skills for a booster I am forced to trash it. I believe (and maybe others) feel that the auto-apply function should be removed and let us the players apply what we want and sell what we want/don’t want. I would also like to see a more variety of rewards given out not just stupid boosters I won’t use.

Thank you.

CCP is phasing out the New Eden market.

After thinking on constructive, alternate ideas, I’ve come up with this:
Being back Aurum, but as a ‘soul bound’ currency.

My reasoning is this: SP and Skins are the only ‘soul bound’ items in the game you have. You could argue that skill extractors and the boosters they make are trading SP, but they are NOT the same skills . There are also diminishing returns with the sp you extract and the SP you inject.

Adding Aurum as a soul bound ‘login reward’ you can spend on the new eden market means you can choose which items to apply it to, example being exclusive skins or specific pilot rewards. Adding different kinds of currency that DON’T cross over into being able to purchase game time would be EXACTLY what they would need for a useful login reward feature: valuable resources to accrue you exclusively get from logging in. You can combine this with daily/weekly campaign rewards for encouraging people staying in and doing content.

This can be combined with other features, like player design contests and community created content. Having soul-bound resources that aren’t directly applied to the market would be useful IF you set it so the items like skins or other rewards immediately apply to the pilot after purchase in the store, or reaching a reward milestone, so they can’t be resold for isk. This solves the issues introducing login rewards has in a single shard game by decoupling it from the market, which is the main issue CCP is having with this.

This opens up other community options for competition, with player-made skins (in this example) being selected by which contestant gets the most aurum donated to it as a vote, since the currency has no value in the market but only with the player.

Please consider this. Eve’s biggest strength is its community, and CCP should consider any options it has for encouraging the development of player-designed content that adds to EVE, but doesnt unbalance the game.

There’s a problem when the ‘rewards’ are so worthless that players trash them on login.

I don’t bother trashing them - not worth the effort.

Nope.

This system is too slow , we were used to get in a daily base the SP and not wait after a full bar to enjoy it.
all the more less rewarded ( before it was at least 10K / day).

Personnaly I don’t log for these SP , the incitation is not worth it,
without talking about the trouble to get the first 150K .
( to be honest, I don’t need SP anymore, just got the old skill margin at V :D)
Contrary to some players, it is really a good idea to promote skin/booster,
especially for the newbies

Maybe that would work for others players and you find the perfect balance between an incitation enough to push people to connect more with a reward the less “costly”,
as any experiment I hope you’ll communicate the result .

In my opinion any window you always HAVE to interact with before being able to enter your gameplay puts a WALL between potential customers and the product you want to sell!

Doesn’t even matter if the login rewards are worth it or not.

True, but not really applicable - there’s a checkbox in the claim window which allows you to turn it off. You don’t actually have to interact with it more than once.

So you permanently ■■■■■■ the booster market, way to go.

Why buy boosters when you get them for free and now you will be able to save them up.

And Soulbound, really in EVE? That reflects so badly on the devs…

Did something change? Do they not auto-inject now?

As of 3-4 hours ago they were still flagging as ‘auto-inject when redeemed’; I think Salt is confused about something.

They said they are trying to “fix” that!

I always interpreted that as they make them redeemable in space instead of just stations so they aren’t mostly trash.

Either way, once you can use it on demand, exactly when you need it, why buy boosters.

Giving away something in the economy is totally wrong, and boosters are non-trivial to make.

What are you talking about, Salt? All you have to do is click “Claim.”

Dude, there was a time when you could make a living just doing the drug smuggling through highsec. What is CCP doing to this game?

All the people who “get” it are gone, these devs are just content jockeys, selling EVE off bit by bit as “Rides and Attractions”.

I’ve been saying that for quite a while now.
