Expert Systems - Coming Soon!

Also you:

Magic 14 Skills, which is a Uniwiki term, are actually the Core Fitting Skills which need to be trained at max level to competently fit ships.

Bolded for emphasis.

You are literally saying newbies need skills at level 5 to competently fly their ship. How am I lying?

well, cpu and power grind are very important

They are important. But not necessary to have at level 5 for a functional fit.

Fitting in EVE is a nice puzzle. But no matter your current power grid and CPU, you can always make a working fit. It may have a little less hitpoints because you had to downsize a T2 shield extender to a ‘compact’ one, may align a little slower because you had to swap a nanofiber for a CPU module, but you can always make it work.

CPU and powergrid skills at level 5 are only necessary in order to copy paste certain tight fits made by other players.

But you can always modify those fits to make it fit for your skills. And the sooner a newbie learns how to fit their ship themselves, the better.

You’re a liar, seriously… Nowhere in this thread did I say I try to force brand new players into different ships or tell them they can’t do anything or say they’re worthless until they’ve trained up x skills.

You keep insisting that crap when it’s not true, just because I said that new players need to have the Core Fitting Skills trained up to competently fit ships. Oh by the way, I said competently fit ships, not fly them. You need to train level 5 Reading Comprehension.

Enough of your manure, brand new players don’t have the isk to buy the tech 1 meta modules, are you going to pay for that? And they still need to train up skills to use items. Anyone telling brand new players to put rigs on a ship that they’re going to quickly lose is a troll griefer.

Are you aware a lot of tech 1 meta modules are actually cheaper than the T1 modules?
And of course they still need to train up skills to use items, did I claim otherwise?
And about the rigs: how new are these players we’re talking about?

  • ‘Day 1 to a couple weeks old’- new? → They don’t need any fitting skills to fly any of the recommended newbie fits
  • Old enough to try recommended fits for mission X or fleet type Y that are too tight for their skills? → I would indeed recommend using rigs, if the use of fitting modules and compact modules doesn’t solve it

Anyway, I’m not only a liar, but also a troll griefer now? I think I’ve had enough.

Oh I just checked Market app, if you search you can find a few deals available but most Meta items are more expensive than their Tech 1 versions.

Same here…

Spring chicken to shitehawk in one easy lesson payment…

If your skills are not at V they will work on older (2+ years) accounts.

“It’s 100% profit minus my time, which has become cheap ever since I got worthless for working in real life and being useful to a business.”
Never Let Them Say That!!

I Say Play the Game ANYway that makes you happy!

i didn’t say anything about not working on any and all accounts… i simply stated these were not INTENDED for veterans or bittervets… these were specifically designed for new players. Bitter/Vets will not buy these.

Some day Ill check if I actually bothered training the M14 to 5. I sincerly doubt I have

That’s not how I put it to them, I’m summarizing here, and no, the rules of driving involve common sense things that you can see directly. Eve’s rules are all things you can’t see, and trying to get your head around them while learning to fly takes a long time.
I find myself explaining them to people who have been in Eve far longer than I have. Most recently I spent over an hour explaining that other players can see that you have changed your safety system from green to yellow or even red unless you do something like raid someone else’s wrecks, or shoot someone. I put it all as simply as possible, and it still took a long time, then I had to get into why you could be killed in lowsec by Concord, where and why it can happen, and in the end they still didn’t understand why people can just kill them at will in highsec. It’s frustrating as hell.

Fleet war is open pvp - I personally think min-max has its place in open world. You never know who you are going to meet so you want to be prepared. That being said, what is sorely missing from the NPE is pvp. There should be a pvp component for new players to experience - Even if is nub ships duking it out. I’m sure that it would be more fun for the new players then mining. But yeah - there would have to be hard limits on fits etc if older players were allowed in. However that shouldnt be any problem as they already do this for the abyssal arena.

Because if you don’t have Mechanics V, your heart will explode.

I mean, you never said the explanation had to be true. :smirk:

True, I didn’t bother to Arrendis proof my statement :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m a market trader on all but 1 char, who has zero ship skills, why do I need the “magic 14”?

I believe I already addressed your argument.

I mean, come on.

Are there going to be any Expert Systems that will allow Capsuleers to pilot either a Dread or Carrier with associated drones for three days? I think that Null alliances would like to have these capabilities on hand for younger pilots to instantly jump into Capitol ship combat or any Capsuleer who wants to get a taste of flying a Dread or Carrier, but only for a limited time.

Are there going to be Expert Systems for Triglavian and Edencom ships as well?

Don’t forget about Expert Systems for Freighters either, wouldn’t want that Rookie with that hidden stash of loot not be able to get it all to market at once.
