Still waiting to see how high they go and what changes CCP puts in place during that time before I make a choice either way.
Well the spike over the last couple of weeks was due to the activities expected at the end of the war and now the rout of PAPI and retake of Delve by Goons.
It has already started to drop again.
Not really a spike due to anything CCP has done, although the sales tax changes might help a little.
How could you possibly know that?
Scarcity has been given an end date. This might be a factor too.
Having returned to the games 3 or 4 times during around 10 or so years, itās the same hope I have when I return and the same reasons for leavingā¦
Not enough going on, too many corps with too few members, maybe if there was just
4 or 5 corporations and the factions more pronounced, a real divide not just whos at war with with who, small.wormholes would have huge dividends for those risking jumping into anotherās faction.
The Grab riches now for money got old real quick, a newbie sporting all the latest gear and the skills sets for it, guy goes inā¦guy gets wipedā¦not much fun in thatā¦I imagine a lot of new players this happened too, canāt generate new players who throws money in the pot, gets wiped out and says ā¦screw thatā¦lots of those guys never stay longā¦
The guys who have been playing years gets bored cause their corps are dead leaveā¦the ones left just spend the rest of the time shooting noobs for funā¦I think this is a game that got to big for itself, became too much and at the end of the day, it always feels more like itās not really taking me into another world more like that it is, but that itās as disappointing as annoying at this one is.
Just my 2 cents, for all you guys that love it, fair play to ya and well done for keeping Eve alive, you guys are the true fans, but for me anyway, ā¦it was just that there was so much to do, with no one to do with surrounded by people who aim ā¦sums it up reallyā¦
the corp spam in eve is a real issue. idk what CCP can do to encourage mass mergers though
CCP absolutely shouldnāt be trying to manage how people group up.
If people want to be in huge player groups, they already can.
If they want a smaller group, they can.
If they want to be in a tiny corp, they currently can, but should CCP try to force mergers, where are they going to go? My guess is⦠theyāre not doing the above, because if they wanted it, theyād be doing it.
Since EVE players arenāt a captive audience, the odds-on outcome of trying is reduced player count. I know of precisely ZERO gamers Iāve ever met who have told me āYou should try this game because the devs insist you do all this stuff!!!ā. The reverse used to be EVEās selling point: you had far fewer rules.
Fewer rules was actually alot more interesting. The corp my main is in at the moment is almost totally dead, especially seeing as the only active member lately was me and I havenāt logged in for ages after beating miners took at CCPās hands lately (more to come when they ārebalance the mining shipsā maybe?). EvE used to represent the ultimate sandbox. Now it feels like theyāve added cement to it and are getting ready to add the water and lose the sandbox forever.
Will CCP ever publish the actual number of PEOPLE that play EvE as a graph? Not accounts⦠PEOPLE, singular indivduals. No names, just number of people. I think that would be an interesting graph to see.
CCP will not do that. Actions speak louder than words! The fact EVE feels the need to pump in FREE ISK and lower NPC tax rates scream of desperation. Deflation ( currency) is a very bad sign your number of players are falling! Donāt believe me. Look at history. Star Wars Galaxies, The Sims Online, Runescape are all MMOās that went through this just before the doors closed forever.
Donāt worry we have 50 bots and 50k esi pulls to replace every lost player.
It has been for me, at least tentatively. For a number of reasons that was some of the best news Iāve heard in quite a while, and maybe it made me disproportionately happy but I like being happy so the hell with it.
What if they rebalance them to be tough as hell? What if itās easier to kill a mining ship with mining hardware than it is with actual weapons?
Iāve sort of always been amazed at how fragile mining ships are when you consider the fact that theyāre designed to fly around with gigantic chunks of space rock bouncing off their hulls.
I get a kick out of the idea of people building destroyers with loads of mining lasers, not for mining but for being able to poke holes in hulls that are absolutely massive in terms of thickness and durability.
I doubt theyād do that⦠the last time they ābalancedā them out they made the Procurer and Skiff into battleship grade tanks, then nerfed it with a change to ALL ships shield resistances (they were pretty over the top imho and i am a miner mainly). seeing as almost all the latest changes were nerfs and screw ups I have little to no faith in CCP doing anything right.
You might have a valid point, but Runescape very much still alive?
Firstly we have CSM experts in regards to SWG. CCP is doing its best monetisation wise, instead of catering to the community players this game has its target audience firmly entrenched in n+1 botters and multi boxers, if you are not multiboxing or botting then you are gonna need niche blue sky thinking to get ahead of the curve. I promise you if you do discover anything other than a n+1 account solution you risk getting banned, & your solution will be promptly patched out.
I remember that change, it reduced all of the skill training I had been doing for months prior to almost nothing. I was furious.
Also I donāt think they will do anything like what I suggested, but Iām hopeful. After the last⦠however long itās been⦠age of endless nerfs and obnoxious changes having any hope might seem idiotic, but I canāt help it.
Each of my characters (with one exception) has its own corporation because I canāt be bothered to deal with someone elseās (the exception is a very small group of people who I am very fond of and know I can trust). Also I like having my own corp hangers, and a number of other reasons.
If they (CCP) make that impossible on top of all the other obnoxious changes Iāve seen so far they might lose me too.
I donāt see how my ācorp spamā has any impact on anyone else at all, itās not relevant in any way to what they are doing or how they do it.
Besides, I tax the hell out of my self, I donāt think if I were to try to recruit I would have anyone with any sense trying to join.
you dont want new players joining 50 man corps while its actually like 3 active people and their alts. Its no mistake the largest corps are in null sec also happen to be null blocks.
Thatās a really interesting point, and in a way part of why I make my own. For the most part though I wouldnāt really expect ones like that to be doing much recruiting, but I honestly have no way of knowing that. The first corporation I was in when I was brand new was really confusing a lot of the time, there were a fair number of people who were inactive a lot of the time, most had alts, some had alts out spying in other corporations and the only two people I could relate to at all were around the same age as I was, everyone else were long time veterans. The alt thing back then drove me up the wall (ice gotten over it and now have a small stampede of my own running amok but I make an effort to not confuse people with them. The funny thing about that group was there were some people in it that I very much did not get along with at the time, one of them was just about the worst, and get now we actually get along. Rather well actually, I still drive him nuts with my propensity itās tempered a bit I think by the fact that when I was news to him I seemed impossible to teach. Ages later what he was trying to explain has sunk in and we have found that we agree on a lot more than we disagree on. Heās someone who I wouldnāt hesitate to fly with now, but back then I would fly off in my Veletor to the other side of space just to piss him off that I wasnāt listening when he said ādonāt do that!ā.
In the time since then I have seen countless corporation spring up and die only to be left with out or two people struggling to keep it alive. Sometimes it made sense for them to make a corporation and it was surprising when it failed, but a lot of the time I kind of knew they were doomed from the start. I think that one of the last things I would want to do, especially as a new player, is join something like that.
as it is now its the deathblow to eve, i have stoped playing after 14 great years whit eve as a builder / miner but the job as builder have been nerfed a lot so you cant get a good prize for your stuff before i were happy to get 2mil profit on a orca whit a total build time of 35 days , now the prize of reactions and ore the build time is gone up from 30+ days to 90+ days and whit no profit at all, the same can be sayed of t1 battleships, i know iam old 51 years but i had fun playing eve but all games die and eve is gasping for air atm, happy flyiong to all still playing , i leave ships and all my stuff rot up in a hige sec station, maby ill lock back in in 5 years time wen ther is only 1000 player left. have fun fly safe
